The GTX is powerful, hungry and exactly what you’d expect from a cutting-edge slice of computing, and believe me when I say this, it sure isn’t cheap. This pro-gaming kit needs specific hardware to really make it shine. The great thing I like about this, the performance takes over from the NVIDIA make. NVIDIA is a top brand, I always find it’s the fastest, and more reliable make, it also upgrades AMD’s successful 4870 X2 brand. What this baby can really do?

I’ve heard this isn’t the first time NVIDIA has attempted to produce a dual GPU solution to the GTX, previous experience has been little more of a demonstration on this type of technology. Saying that, now their attempt on a real dual-GPU solution has been successful. NVIDIA can thank AMD for proving there is a real market out there, for those number-crunching beasts, this is partly down to the size of the screens, they just keep getting bigger and bigger. The GTX 295 isn’t really new technology; they seem to tweak them of previous silicon to make a large-scale dream a reality. This certainly is a fancy way of saying it, but, it’s exactly what makes GTX better!!

NVIDIA is in its tenth generation with it consisting of a series which they use, called DX10 200, this selects some of the features from previous GTX 260 and 280. Each core boosts the unified shader and texture mapping units of the 280, instead of the Render Outputs of the 280 version, it has the same number as the 260 one. This may be confusing to others, but It surely makes this one vast improved. The core trips along at 576MHz with the 448-bit memory operation at just under a gig, however this means that the GeForce 295 GTX calls on a massive memory capacity of 223.8GB, which will give others a lot more competition when it comes to the speed.

This Geforce GTX enables even more full-throttle life like game play whilst providing optical power management with hybrid power technology. The HD engine of this delivers unmatched video and movie quality, and the compatibility provides amplified performance when coupled with NVIDIA force. How great is the graphic card?

I hear a lot about these memory battles going on, which one is the fastest, the highest, and more improved, well I will break it down like this for you. The 4870 x2 still wins the memory face-off, with its 2GB of GDDR5 beating the 1,792 MB of GDDR3, making this Graphic card really improved in memory, in strength and in speed. If anybody understands these figures, then you should know what I’m getting at. To me, you can’t just explain how good this product is without knowing the numbers of the memory and speed, its important to know whether my motherboard can take this much. Like I said, the quality and size of such a delicate graphic’s card, makes this outstandingly superior. What you shouldn’t do, don’t underestimate how power hungry the GeForce 295 GTX is, it completely has the urge to forward a powerful momentum, for that astonishing graphics performing look. The colour and texture look brilliantly sharp, and the appearance of the onscreen layout looks better then ever…

Talking about tweaking the card, which boosts the GTX card even more…

Your graphics card is one of the components of the PC most susceptible to tweaking. There are many different graphics card setting that you can alter to improve performance even more. The most efficient is the clock speed (so called over clocking) to speed up how fast your new card performs. To boost the clock speed you will need a special software tool, you will need a particular tool to tweak your graphics card. You can some times receive a program with your graphics card to alter the clock frequency on the driver CD; this is one technique to consider, if you want to go out for even more high quality graphics, this sure works outstanding with the GTX card.

Using a useful tool, Riva Tuner to tweak performance:

Riva Tuner is ideal for the ATI and NIVIDIA graphic cards; they can increase the cards settings. To boost the clock speed for your GTX graphics cards for my handy steps:

- Start Riva Tuner under. Under Target Adapter, click on the small arrow next to the word customize.

- Click on the picture of your graphics card. The low-level system tweaks panel will appear. Tick the option, Enable low-level hardware over clocking.

- A warning will pop-up. If you are sure there are no other tools currently over clocking your graphics card, click on Detect Now. If you have any other tools over clocking your graphics card, click reboot, and have your card setting detected after a reboot.

- Once the settings have been detected you will see two sliders at the top. The areas shaded in blue are the ranges it is safe to over clock your card in. Then, drag both sliders to the right of the blue area.

- Click the test button, if your display doesn’t look correct with the new settings; adjust the sliders to the left.

- Finally, tick the apply over clocking option at windows start up, if you want this setting to be used every time you start your computer, one thing is certain, this helps with the speed of your card.

Warning: Do not over excess over clocking, this can damage your graphics card and leave your system unstable.

My thoughts on GeForce make:

It’s highly recommendable in my opinion; I’ve always stuck GeForce and its backing maker NVIDIA, as its quality graphics brings out outstanding effects, when it comes to the speed, the picture and the capacity of it. GeForce makes an extreme impact on all computers; it creates a neat looking image to almost all installed games, whilst playing. My first ever graphic card was, NVIDIA GeForce 2 Max, which back then was quite high graphics, but it was still quite powerful, looked great and rather efficient. The GeForce 2 Max is now very low in graphics, compared to the GeForce GTX 295, this new version puts you in a whole new dimension, the sharpness and stylishness is what makes GeForce so special…

The down side to all graphics cards!

As soon as we purchase a new and upgraded graphics card, we always think that it’s the one which will stay in the computer for life. But, it’s upgrading of technology which makes us go out and buy a new one (the latest version). Technology moves very fast these days, after a time, the card you’ve had for so long becomes out of date, so it’s time to upgrade again. The biggest pain in the A*** is when your motherboard needs upgrading too, you might want to do this to keep up to date with this day n age technology, when the motherboard changes, so does the graphics card. Motherboards can last a long time, but, after a while every one will phase out in time, making room for a faster and more powerful one. Not only the graphics card needs upgrading, so does the memory boards, sound cards etc… The point I’m reaching is; you get so use to the card; that you’re using at the moment, when these phase out; you will have to get the next step up in graphics. This means, every time you upgrade, it cost a lot of time and money.

Is it worth the purchase?

Absolutely, it’s faster, powerful, quality efficient and puts you in another world; it’s really pricy though, but certainly well worth it. You get the most out of everything, playing your installed games and watching videos in more sharper and more realistic detail, the picture sparkles and shines. This is one of the best latest versions on the market, I only hear great things about products from the NVIDIA and Geforce, this make never disappoints…
