In my workplace we were until recently still using ball mice for navigating our systems (which themselves are fairly old), so I decided to upgrade the mice with various makes of optical mouse.
The given budget was rather limited, so the price available for each mouse was ~£15. I have to admit when I saw the XPRO mouse I was fairly impressed, it looked very streamline and flash!
The problem, as I found to my detriment, was that when purchasing mice there is a fairly limited amount of specifications for each one, they are either optical, laser or ball mice, and generally the resolution of the optical mice (i.e. how accurate they are) is not listed.
The mouse is aesthetically pleasing, it does feel nice when spending hours browsing the internet and navigating through the computer and it has handy navigation keys (forward, back, scroll wheel) which all work perfectly.
The only problem with the mouse, unfortunately a fairly fundamental one, is that the mouse tends to cause the cursor to wander. Sometimes you can be watching the screen, not touching the mouse at all, and the cursor will magically track towards the top left of your screen. Funny at first, but quite irritating after a while!
In addition to this mouse, I also purchased a Microsoft optical mouse for around the same price which has functioned beautifully, although it lacks the useful forward and back buttons.
I would say from my experience though that it is always worth the hassle of searching for reviews for mice, or sticking to well known manufacturers before you purchase, otherwise you
