A review of XXX Extra Strong Mints Well, before I went on holiday just over a week ago I went to stock up on mints. I decided that I wanted something a bit stronger than Polo's or Murray Mints to sustain me through the 100+ mile drive. Then, I saw them on offer - a three pack of XXX mints. They claim to be the strongest extra strong mint on the market. This was worth investigating. Packaging The mints are in a foil wrapping with a paper outer wrapping. There are two rows of three large red X's with Extra Strong written across the last X. Underneath one row it says it says The Stronger Extra ... more

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The Mints ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The XXX extra strong mints were introduced in 1987 by the company Fox. The mints are circular in shape and white in colour. The diameter of each sweet is just over 2cm and the thickness is just over half a centimetre. The mint feels slightly powdery to the touch. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The Packaging ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The sweets come in a silver foil roll, which is covered by a cylinder shaped paper roll, which is approximately 11cm long and contains approximately 16 sweets. The packet looks similar to that of the Trebor extra strong mint ... more

I had recently become Holey due to an experience with Polo's, a vivid epiphany of downright biblical proportions that can only be described as the mint of God. Sadly however, I was never really a good boy at heart, I could only hold my urges back for so long before I had to cave in, I had failed in my new life to be a good boy. I couldn't really resist Boris Johnson and his boyish charms, “Boris will be Boris” I said to myself, before realising the third Ashes test started yesterday (despite the rain) and thought I might as well put a wager on it. The start of a slippery slope, “It's the ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not that strong

Trebor have a long history in the sweet market and especially in the production of decent strong mints. Their XXX brand came on the market a few years ago as the STRONGER extra strong mints which were designed to blow your socks off. Well I do like these mints but ,as to their claims, who are they kidding. The triple x strong mints are packaged in a very similar style to the ordinary extra strong mints. I guess the XXX is meant as a warning to any delicate violets, that these mints are really strong. When you take a mint out they look and smell very much like Trebor extra strong mints. For ... more
