X Scooter is a fairly original game. It takes the theme of competitive sporting, and emulates it for the scootering world. In the game you pick a character and a scooter and race it around parks from different areas of the world performing tricks to get the most points to outdo your opponents and advance to newer levels.
What struck me most about this game is the quality it has been produced too. It has fairly mediocre graphics, which could have been made much better by the use of 3D technology, which has become the norm these days. Also, the sounds were fairly standard, simple skating noises and about 5 looping tracks made the game seem very repetitive.
Also, the levels are in places poorly laid out. It is possible to get stuck on occasion, and tricks can be hard to perform on certain landscapes, limiting gameplay. Also, I have found the game to be prone to crashing on my pII 233 MMX, which I found a little disappointing.
In short, this game is suitable only really for addicts of scooting. The graphics are weak, and the entire program has an unfinished air. It could have been much better if more time had been spent on it.
