Fun but repetitive, needs that bit extra
Review of Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360) by calv666

Advantages: Fun, stunning graphics, long storyline
Disadvantages: repetitive, not very replayable, slow and glitchy sometimes

I borrowed this game from my friend, after hearing all the hype but not wanting to shell out another £30 for a game. And to be honest I am glad I didn't buy it. Don't get me wrong it's a fantastic game, but once I'd completed it I had a feeling of; "Is that it?" it is very unlikely I will play it again. First, the storyline. I'll try not to give too much away. You are an average Joe, whose grandfather was a master assassin back in the crusades. ...
...you grandfather's assassinations. Well, personally I think the story would have worked perfectly well, without having to keep coming back to the present only for an update on the story, which to be honest is a bit rubbish. The time you are in the past though, that is something else, well crafted and not too slow, this works perfectly. It is very realistic, and very accurate (I am told). Graphics One word. Stunning. I have a 42" HD plasma TV and ... Read review

Take Control Of The Mighty Blue Dragon
Review of Blue Dragon (Xbox 360) by hackersupr

Advantages: Classic turnbased action, good graphics, good sound, interesting shadow skill system
Disadvantages: Not much innovation!

Blue Dragon is Microsoft's effort at appealing to the Japanese audience, a role-playing game from Mistwalker studios which consists of three legendary designers. Hironubu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series. Akira Toriyama, designer of the Dragonball animes and Dragon Quest games. Nobuo Uematsu music composer of the Final Fantasy games, with such a team what could go wrong! Story: The story of Blue Dragon begins in Talta village, every ...
...gain the powers of the blue dragon. The rest of the games story revolves around the quest to defeat Nene which has a few interesting plot twists (a good one right at the end!). There is some attempt at a romance subplot between Shu, Jiro and Kluke but the only thing that happens is they make rings for her, friendship rings not wedding rings! It's just the usual good vs. evil struggle but it is decent enough to hold your interest. Characters: At ... Read review

BIOSHOCK
Review of Bioshock (Xbox 360) by Hacksaw25

Advantages: Graphics, Story, Character customisation, Mad!
Disadvantages: Not challenging as you never really die...

Everyones dream, of a place where everythings perfect, no problems, everyone living in perfect harmony. That's what Rapture was meant to be......from but from the moment your plane crashes into the sea, and you work your way to the lighthouse, down dark stairs and into what seems to be a lift, something eerie is around the corner and your on the edge of your seat anticipating whats going to happen next! These opening few minutes of play to me was ...
...little noise as you enter this world has you jumping at the bit. As soon as you enter Rapture, an underwater world, that seems to have been ripped to pieces, your first interaction with one of the inhabitants proves something really has gone wrong in this world! As you work your way through you start to figure out that the world is the creation of a man called Andrew Ryan, whose idea's have of a wonderful utopia have gone far adrift. As you progress ... Oblivion, Simply Beautiful
Review of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360) by lukemufc

Advantages: Graphically Astounding, Huge Worlds, Non-Linear Play, Brilliant Sound
Disadvantages: Loading Times

The world of oblivion is amazingly huge and yet still beautiful right the way through, the sheer size of the game makes for some hefty load up times every now and again which can spoil the atmosphere but I would say that this is the only downside to this game. The gameleaves you to your own devices so you can do hundreds of things within it, there are multiple races each with their advantages and disadvantages and hundreds of skills to learn and ...
...a medieval type world. The game doesn't just offer you a single linear route to success in the game, sure their is a main storyline but then what would you do if there wasn't. The storyline is a very interesting one which explains the history of the 9 different planes in the universe each controlled by a different demon, the expansion shivering isles further continues this history, but the main stroyline is about how a the king of the empire known ... Gears of War
Review of Gears of War (Xbox 360) by DevilsLore

Advantages: Graphics
Disadvantages: Short Play Time

Gears of War is short. I'll be perfectly honest with you on that front. It'll take you somewhere between ten to twelve hours to make it through the game on Casual, the easiest of the two diffculties available at the beginning. A third diffculty level is unlockable after completing the game. At £40, ten hours might seem like a waste, especially with the hype juggernaut backing it up. This is the Xbox 360 game to get for Christmas, according to the ...
...to describe Gears of War is "focused." There is very little wasted space here. It is fairly linear, so you spend very little time running around looking for red keys to open blue doors. The main beneit to this linearity is that it gives the developers the ability to tightly control the pacing. If you aren't shooting Locusts full of ittybitty (or sometimes very large) holes, you're traversing a boobytrapped corridor, driving a tremendous, though ... Read review
