Not so much mega any more.
Advantages: Took me back to my childhood. Made me appreciate the Xbox 360 more. Disadvantages: Poor graphics and sound, far too dated.
...first ever games console. The Sega Mega Drive. After years of Acorn Electrons and Spectrum 128k’s, having to load cassette tapes with games on and listening to the horrible screeching noises the television made whilst loading them I finally had the future of gaming.
I remember the hours spent shouting and balling that day because no matter what my dad and I tried we couldn’t get a damn picture on the TV. When we finally did it was all worth it. ... ...360 and came across the Sega Mega Drive ultimate collection. It was only priced at £24.99, so it wasn’t as expensive as games usually are. It took me back. I had already downloaded Sonic the Hedgehog off Xbox live and had enjoyed playing that so I thought why not pre-order it.
My game arrived on the day of release and I was quite excited. I opened the package and put the disc in my Xbox. The list of games are as follows:
Alex Kidd In The Enchanted ...

I Have Never Been Hurt...
Advantages: Still quirky, hilarious and addictive gameplay. Disadvantages: A wafer-thin disc of shattered dreams.
...sad to my core.
Beautiful Katamari, the latest descendent of the series that started in Japan only with Katamari Damacy, has hit the Xbox 360. The gameplay, it's most innovative feature from the start, has naturally remained the same. You play as a funny-shaped prince, or any number of his cousins, working under the hilariously nonsensical King of the Cosmos. His stupidity has lead to the solar system being swallowed up by a black hole, not that ... ...to see more of.
Beautiful Katamari is an appalling failure to bring anything new to the table. I got it for my birthday and was done with it the following day, having played it for scarcely three hours. All but one of the twelve (yes, twelve) levels followed the same pattern of gathering familiar objects in what more and more seemed like the same giant map. I remember feeling I was getting too big too fast, like I was Icarus and some powerful fiery ...

TMNT
Advantages: Play As All Four Turtles, Good Fun While It Lasts, Tag Team With Turtles Disadvantages: No Co-op Or Xbox Live Mode, Really Easy, Graphics Aren't Exactly Next Gen
Turtles, they aren't exactly the most exciting things in the world to look at are they? Therefore in theory when you mutate them and give them some lethal martial art skills and weapons they should suddenly attract your attention, so with Ubisoft doing just that in the form of their new movie tie in TMNT, realistically we should be in for some next gen fun right?
The main part of TMNT is made up by the story mode in which you have 16 levels to fight ... ...each level is broken up with film clips and comic books snippets which keep you informed of the story (not that there is much of one). Unfortunately the combat is pretty bad. During progress through each level you will be encountered by a group of enemies who must be defeated before you are able to continue your journey, they aren't exactly the most intelligent beings in the world though with their skills being limited to walking and attacking.

Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged
Advantages: 4 good games, great value, free 1 month subscription Disadvantages: 2 average games, no news on Volume 2?
Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged is a disk that contains six Xbox Live Arcade titles. The disk itself is very easy to use, no installation is required, the game disk is simply inserted in the disk draw and the player is routed directly to the Arcade menu to pick which game they want to play. It should be noted that the disk is always required to play the games, as they cannot be copied or stored onto another storage device. These games featured on the ... ...including the one month free Xbox Live Subscription that comes with it.
There is a good range of games on here, ranging from puzzle games such as Bejewelled to shooters like Geometry Wars, and all of the games are suitable for all of the family. Needless to say that the graphics and sound on all of these games are great, which applies to almost all of the Xbox Live Arcade titles, and so they are very playable. The online modes of Texas Hold 'em ...

Old school meets new school
Advantages: Looks great, plays great, local multiplayer is a blast Disadvantages: Some issues with online multiplayer, small gameplay issues
...how it is. Enter Castle Crashers, a scrolling beat 'em up set in the mould of these old classic beat 'em ups, except, it actually plays how you remember those games, and not how they are today. The plot is simple; you are one of four brightly coloured knights (who can be controlled by your buddies, but more on that later) who must rampage through levels, kicking every ass in sight. Sounds shallow, and on first impressions you would be forgiven ... ...say that the graphics in Castle Crashers are amongst the best on the Xbox 360. You can leave your polygons and your high resolution textures at the door, thanks, because Castle Crashers is pure, unadulterated, hand drawn 2D beauty. The animations, the backdrops, everything is brimming with detail, personality and (sometimes crude) humour. I defy anyone not to laugh at the Thieves Forest level where an extremely scared deer is propelled away from ...
