Finally doctors are giving out slimming pills again to those who need it. To be prescribed xenical you have to be clinically obese which your doctor can tell you when he weighs you. Then you have to prove to your doctor you are commited to slimming by losing 5 pounds on your own in a few weeks.
Each box contains a month supply and are given one box per prescription of 120mg. There are enough pills to take three a day (one with every meal)the pills are in the form of capsules and are blue. What the pills actually do is stop your body from absorbing fat from anything you eat. You can take each pill before you eat and up to an hour after and it will still work.
Piils are easy to swallow, not chalky and don't realy taste of anything. The packets are perforated so it is easy to tear of a pill or two to take with you if you are going out anywhere.
The only thing that is required from you is that you follow a low fat diet otherwise you end up with oily, runny diarroeah and your body takes in more fat than the pills can absorb which prevents them from working. Obviously the aim is that by the time you reach your target weight your new low fatdiet will have become habit.
You have to go back to your doctor every other month or so to be weighed, if you have lost weight then your prescription is renewed and if not it is cancelled as this shows you haven't been taking them properly and so aren't commited to losing the weight.
During the first week that i had them not much happened although i noticed i was going for a wee more often but by the second week i was going for a poo more often and it was usually a bit fatty. I weighed myself after the first two weeks and i had lost 6 pounds which is normal as i had detoxed and had started to lose weight.
After this the weight loss is slow and steady which is the healthiest way to lose weight, i was losing roughly a pound a week.
As you can see the incentive to stay on a low fat diet whilst on these pills is the concept of not being able to leave you house because you are constantly on the toilet with runny fatty poo.
Even when following a low fat diet, pooh is still softer, quite oily and more often but this is greatly enhanced if you eat anything fatty.
Again though as with most diets the thing that goes best with these pills is exercise, even though they work without exercising, if the pills stop you absorbing fat then your body will have to use it's own reserves for energy so if you do more energetic things more fat is burned and you begin to tone up aswell.
The main side effects obviously are the increased need to go to the toilet and runny fatty stools. There are also the possibilities of side effects such as stomach cramps and nausea. Obviously you cannot take these pills if you are pregnant or diabetic.
I would say the only disadvantage to these is if you are the sort of person that has a probelm with going for a poo in a public toilet, with these pills when you gotta go, you gotta go.
