I have never really been on any diet before, but decided at 35 I really needed to lose weight before I got stuck in a rut and would never loose anything! I think also having a child made me realise I did not want to be a unfit mother etc...
I was recommended xenical and went to my doctor who said yes I was OK to have it. She was very clear about how it works & the possible side affects..And also advised me to look online at reviews & tips etc.....
I started on Dec 1st 2008 I was 107 kilos and I am 5 foot 2 "
I lost 8 kilos in the first 8 weeks ... (and during xmas!!) did not really increase my exercise but walked a little more to school everyday about a mile there and back.
After the first 2 months it does slow down a bit, as I was told it would ...its Now July and I have lost a total of 13 kilos in 7 months (2 stone) I walk to school most days and 2-3 times a week I do a work out dvd to get the heart rate up and I find that's really helped shift some weight. I also at the start measured myself with a tape measure (this is a good idea to do) and kept a record.. So far I have lost 4" around my bust 4" around my waist and 51/2" around my hips. And dropped 2 dress sizes.
Yes the side effects can be a little unpleasant , but I only leaked once at the start and its my own fault I had a fatty meal the night before! To be honest you do have to put some input in yourself pills alone won't shift the weight (although you would loose some as 30% of all fat you eat comes out again) but trying to change what you eat (try to eat no more than 15 grams of fat per meal and no more than 65 grams of fat per day- less if you can) and that will really show results!
After a while your body gets used to the pills and you know yourself how you are on them and you just become aware really.
I would say the pills really do work, it is slow and steady though...I Would like the weight off quicker, but at least this way the weight does stay off! I still have the odd treat or 2 a week and maybe once every couple of months an Indian takeaway....however baby wipes at the ready the next morning! lol
But it can be done so good luck to everyone who tries xenical, I know its not for everyone, but its worked for me so far....I still have a way to go but will keep going!!

I'm glad it seems to be working for you, although I do wonder how big the difference would have been without the pills - it sounds like you've made changes to your diet and exercise that would have helped you lose weight anyway. I've lost three stone over the past couple of years by making similar changes without pills. Still, good luck! Hope you get to your target weight soon.
Advantages: Steady, safe weight loss. No side effects if used properly. Disadvantages: Loose stools and wind (but only if you don't follow the advice given).

Advantages: Losing weight is easy and you don't have to give up your favourite foods, great support offered, lots of local meetings during the day and eveing Disadvantages: Weekly fee can make it an expensive way to lose weight
