If you are looking to purchase a new printer may I be so bold to suggest that you stop your search now and look no further than the Xerox Phaser 6110? No you say, ok, why I don't I explain why you should listen.
I work from home, and have been using the Phaser 6110 now for 6 months to mainly print of bulk letter projects, colour charts and general pages from the internet. I would say that my printing is probably above average, sometimes printing over 500 pages a day. Since I have owned the printer, it has only needed one routine service and two replacement toner cartridges, so in its favour it has reliability.
This is not all though readers, the Phaser 6110 is both a black/white and colour printer combo that really doesn't take up much space when you consider the size of such gigantic machines at the HP Laserjet 4. It's actual dimensions, taken using my trusty plastic ruler are:
Width - 40 cm Depth - 35 cm Height - 26 cm
It you can visualise this in your minds eye, it isn't very big at all really.
So, it's reliable, it doesn't take up much space. How fast does it print from a standing start? Well, the official specification give timings of 4 pages per minutes in colour and 16 pages per minute in black and white. These figures are obviously taken after the printer has been running for a while, the truth is that you get 3 ppm in colour and 11 ppm in black and white. Still not bad going though and it doesn't take an age for it to warm up. The first page prints off within about 30 seconds so it won't let you down when you are in a rush.
Print quality is superb in both colour and black and white. There is never any smudging of the colours and photographs and pictures are always clear. They are not the same quality as the pictures produced by the Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock but they are of a high end quality and can't be grumbled at.
What else can I tell you about this printer? Well, the tray is big enough and holds up to 150 pages of A4 paper. What confuses to though is that the top finisher tray only holds 100 pages so you can't set it to print 150 pages without going back to move some as they come off. Annoying, but not really a flaw as far as I'm concerned.
Installation is simple. It is just a case of installing the driver and hooking the printer up to the network or PC using the USB cable. If I can do it, anyone can.
So, for £150, the price I paid for my Phaser 6110 you could do a lot worse. This is a great printer. I rarely big up technical products, but I just couldn't help myself with this, I'm impressed that much.
Good review, it's always handy to include the price of the colour and black cartridges too as this can be quite cheap or quite hefty on top of the cost of the printer :) It does seem a bit odd that it holds 150 pages but the output tray only holds 100, that would be somewhat annoying if you're doing a bigger than 100 pages print job LOL! x

How can it be that sayitasitis is in possession of this printer for about 6 months, when this new model is just about now available in the stores?
