The Xerox Phaser 6350DP has stolen my heart as well as my the wallet of my boss. This was purchased at the start of the year for our office and is linked to a network of 6 PCs. The rationale about purchasing such a machine was left in the hands of others so I cannot comment on what they were looking for in detail. All I know is they wanted a fast coour printer.
Installation was very easy and no drivers were needed be installed on our individual PCs, the network automatically detected it. To use the printer the computer must have an operating system more advanced than Windows 98.
The printers look awesome, can hold up to 2600 pieces of paper and prints fairly rapidly in black and white and when called upon to print in colour. I have timed the printouts as I don't believe what companies say. The results were:
Black and white: 62 pages per minute Colour: 35 pages per minute
When printing the first page it only takes 10 seconds to warm up saving power usage and it eerily quiet at all times. There is no start up clunking or grinding and you have to really listen to hear it print.
Every print that has been produced by this product has been first class and cannot be faulted at all. The printer even has built in software that flashes a pop up box onto your screen to tell you how long it will take to print your job after pressing print.
Awesome for business use and obviously way too expensive for personal use. £1200 is a lot of money but well worth it in the long run.
