Advantages: Excellent print quality. Very reliable. Disadvantages: PagePack as a way of getting consumables is a total dog
...In many ways a great printer. We had a 7700 for 3 years and replaced it with a 7750 with all the bells and whistles.
The only gripe we have is the PagePack method of getting consumables. Yes - it is a lot cheaper to run than the 7700 but you are tied in to getting supplies from Xerox and they want you to order from a special web site. Big problem is that the system just does not cope with an uneven demand pattern. If you have sudden peaks as we do for printing leaflets for exhibitions then you will run out of something and find you cannot have another one because you only recently ordered one of the same toner or of something else. You then ring up and have some discussion that your really do not want to be bothered with and if the girl you speak to won't give you the stuff, you then ring the service manager and he OK's it. If you can...

Advantages: Solid and Reliable Disadvantages: Running costs
...The XeroxPhaser 6125vn comes from a long line of thoroughbreds, Xerox are experts at turning out solid printers and they even look good. The print quality is more than adequate and there print speed is ok too.
This printer is great for small offices, Estate Agents seem to like them and I can see why, they are reliable and ideal for printing house info with colour pictures of "nice fixer uppers".
There are a couple of drawbacks however, Xerox toner is not cheap so running costs can be a little on the high side, also getting this printer repaired once its out of warrantee can be frustrating, Xerox will repair but there prices go through the roof and getting parts is an expensive and torturous ordeal if you want to fit them yourself, I have to order bits from France and it can take up to 14 days.
Having said that The XeroxPhaser 6125vn...

Advantages: Color Disadvantages: Inadequate support
...I purchased a Xerox color laser based on their reputation. I learned an expensive lesson. The printer never worked correctly. I takes forever to send a print job over 10 Mb ethernet connection. Once the print was readied in the printer memory, it was likely that the printer would jam. You have to reset the printer and start over. Printer engine faults were SOP. I was able to get a single service call from Xerox personnel. Their position was that "The power is "dirty." I placed the printer on a dedicated line with multiple filters and a power backup. The printer faults and paper jams continued. The new Xerox position: "The printer needs cleaning." Multiple cleanings, faults, and jams later I still received no support from Xeorx. $3000+ and three years later Xerox has not changed their position. No support from xerox and I...
