. One can easily switch off by accident while performing certain tasks. - Xerox sells a 220cc & 440cc ink cartridge. While the 220cc fits nicely benind an enclosed space, the 44cc ink cartrige sticks out by 10" outside the casing, and is not protected by a closed door, One can accidentaly knock against the cartridges that really protrude from the machine and thus damage the inside connection. Buying 2 times 220 cc cost more that 1 440 cc!! - Troublesome front roll windup as printed media comes out. A counter weight system that activates sensor to wind up paper has to be locked and unlocked everytime it is used compared to simply switching on and off a winding mechanism as with other large format printers. - Daily & weekly maintenance required access to constrained spaces with cleaning kit supplied by Xerox. Disadvantages: Around £30 to replace all the ink.

reports of such cartridges, but I suspect the whole quality, i.e. ink and ink well, is substandard so I’m going to buy originals I think! The print quality given by this Docuprint is very acceptable for a 2-year-old printer, and is certainly of a good quality. Obviously it is not of laser quality, but then what do you expect? From the printer control panel you can specify various options to make your print outs better or worse using such options as ink saver (worse), high quality (better) and photo quality (better still I assume but only if using the best paper around!) Recommended, if you can find one in as good condition as mine is! I would certainly look at a new Xerox in the future, as this model is a breeze to use! The only downside is that it can be a little noisy, but this is of little concern since the CD players ...

Review of Xerox DocuPrint XJ6C

Xerox 6100

Advantages: Easy to use, inexpensive ink, print quality
Disadvantages: slow to warm up, slightly loud

I purchased this printer for the office a couple of months ago and it is a real winner. Works 12 hours a day, is quite quick in setting up new pages, offers much clearer print quality than I had expected for a colour laser printer of this price range, it is easy to use, didn't need time consuming training sessions ( easy double side printing too) and works well as part of the office net with four other PCs printing through it. More important perhaps is that the original replacement ink cartridges are reasonably proced too and that the ink cartridges last relatively long ( we print our logo together with the text or report so quite a lot o ink is used ). As negative point I would point to the fact that the 6100 needs quite a long time to warm up and that it does create quite a high level of noise. In any case I have since ...
