...and considering that I do a lot of black and white printing for college work and things from the internet, it appear to last well. I have only recently changed the colour cartridges, again they have had a lot of use but seem to have lasted well. Xerox claim to have developed an intelligent system called ‘InkLogic’ which manages the colour and ink, trying it’s best to save ink where possible.
The printer cost me £39.97 including VAT. Which I consider to be a very cheap printer, especially as postage and packaging was free for such a bulky item, due to the fact I had ordered online. It arrived promptly, in a large, I mean huge box, which protected the printer well. I must say, that on first impressions the printer seemed much larger than I had imagined, despite checking the dimensions against my old Deskjet before purchasing it.

Advantages: Color Disadvantages: Inadequate support
...I purchased a Xerox color laser based on their reputation. I learned an expensive lesson. The printer never worked correctly. I takes forever to send a print job over 10 Mb ethernet connection. Once the print was readied in the printer memory, it was likely that the printer would jam. You have to reset the printer and start over. Printer engine faults were SOP. I was able to get a single service call from Xerox personnel. Their position was that "The power is "dirty." I placed the printer on a dedicated line with multiple filters and a power backup. The printer faults and paper jams continued. The new Xerox position: "The printer needs cleaning." Multiple cleanings, faults, and jams later I still received no support from Xeorx. $3000+ and three years later Xerox has not changed their position. No support from xerox and I...

Advantages: Compact, Economical, Simple to set up and use Disadvantages: Around £30 to replace all the ink.
...My Xerox Docuprint XJ6C was acquired a few months ago. Previously it had been plugged into my girlfriends PC but had been rarely used so we decided it’d be better used connected up to my machine.
I am unsure if this model of Docuprint is still available to buy, I suspect not as this printer is 2 years old now, and was bundled free with a PC offer.
For more Information visit www.xerox.co.uk which is an excellent resource, especially for the latest drivers.
The printer was simple to set up on my computer and involved plugging the standard printer cable from printer to PC, and power lead. We couldn’t locate the original disk with the driver on, but as I now have Windows Me I thought it would be best to get the latest driver from Xerox. The latest driver was installed without problem and ran straight from an EXE file...
