You can of course subscribe to the magazine and have it delivered to your door for around £27.50 per year, which wouldn't seem to be a saving, but you can also choose a free gift like a girth or boots or whatever is on offer at the time so this can in fact be good value for money.
Regular articles include a readers 'perfect moments' article where the reader recounts their experience with their horse, a "news update" section so you can keep your finger on the pulse and "private lessons" where a well known trainer will help a rider overcome a particular problem (ie. jumping, dressage problems etc.). This is teamed with many photos so the reader can see the progression the horse and rider are making as the trainer guides them through their training session and apply the principles learned to your own riding.
The "Writein" section allows readers to air their views on any issues and readers can write in accounts of their everyday encounters (be it good or bad!).
There are always very helpful sections on new things to do with your horse, as, if you are anything like me, I ride round the school for 10 minutes and then get stuck for things to do! In a recent magazine for instance, there were a set of "cut out and keep" reader cards which covered issues like dealing with sharp or nervous horses and exercises you can do with your horse to overcome this, exercises for fresh or lazy horses, improving rhythm, checking basics and improving elasticity.
The Horse Answers section focuses on readers problems and covers such areas as horse care, (loading and leading problems etc.), vets answers, riding, complementary medicine, feeding and legal answers.
Competitions are regularly run to win items like saddles and clothing and there is always a "giveaway" section you can enter.
The useful product guide features a "tried and tested" section which concentrates on a certain item like bits, gloves, coats, horse boots, rugs etc. so you don't have to go out buying (as us horse owners know the value of money and how far it does (or doesn't) go!) without knowing if the product is good quality and "new things" which looks at the latest products to hit the tack shop shelves.
The back of the magazine "Horse Finders" has photos and details of horses for sale and there is even a part on tracing horses. Within the last pages of the magazine is a classified directory (feed supplements, flooring, holidays etc.)
The advertisements are well set out throughout and the magazine is not 'over heavy' on them.
The articles written certainly hit the spot and are relevant to the rider and I would thoroughly recommend the magazine.

Yourhorse claims to be Britains best selling equestrian monthly. I am a subscriber to this magazine so I get is delivered to my door monthly, this is great as my nearest news agents is about 5 miles away! If you subscribe for a minimum term of 13 issues you get a free gift, I subscribed some time ago and got a first aid kit, this months subscription offer is a water proof pac-a-mac with a value of £23.
