It has a range of 12 DSP's and many digital settings, so you can get the perfect sound for whatever you are listening to. Bass, Treble, Balance and Volume controls are located on the front, and the whole thing itself is very attractive and fits into any hi-fi system.... Read review

...I own the black version of this addition Yamaha sub, i have it wired into my Denon amp, with tannoy speakers with a Denon dvd player, connection by optical audio. The sound out of this sub is absolultley unbelieveable, it provides a nice suttle bass, which can be ajusted to your spec. For music purposes it delievers the quality that you want, and as far as looks, i have it in piano black and it looks the part. I have used many subwoofers includign brands such as Kef, JBL, Monitor Audio, and depending on the system setup and products, this provides the bass very well with my system. I would reccommend this, and the Yamaha hard disk server which is a very good product which also delivers excellent quality.... Read review

Advantages: Cheap and easy to use
Disadvantages: Many features are not used by me

...The Yamaha RX-V593RDS is a AV receiver. This means that you can plug it into your DVD, TV or video and it will act as an amplifier except also has the capacity for 5 speakers, so you can experience a cinema-like surrond sound system. It has many controls, some that you would never use. The system delivers 90 watts of power which is powerful as well as having a digital radio on board that can receive AM or FM. Overall the system performs well as is very good value for money.... Read review
