Realistic reproduction is the only way I can describe the sound that emanates from this excellent cassette tape recorder / player. It's well in line with Yamaha's usual quality.

Looking at the tape deck in a general way even makes it pleasing to the eye in a stylish black case with an assortment of controls including Dolby A and B, Chrome & Metal tape facility, manual bias adjustment and trim. All these extras line up beautifully with the standard controls which also include a very accurate scan function.
Overall it's a well made quality item that would look good with just about any separates system, and has reproduction quality to match the design. The only drawback I found personally was that it does not have a microphone input and live recordings have to be made via an amplified system. But that's a small sacrifice in comparison to the benefits and quality.
