Yamaha DX-100

Advantages: Great budget synth.
Disadvantages: Tricky to program.

Excellent budget version of the infamous Yamaha DX range of synths. It may only have minikeys, and a limited range of sound compared to it's bigger relations, but you get still get some incredible sounds from this little DX-100. Warm rounded basses, thin string pads and nice smooth solo sounds are all here. Where it really comes into it's own is when you want those harsh sounds to cut through the music like a chainsaw. You have to have a DX in any synth studio, so why not hunt around for one of these. Believe me, you'l thank me when you start to play it! A little difficult to program, but worth the results. Polyphony - 8 notes Oscillators - Compact Digital 4-operator FM synthesizer Keyboard - 49 minikeys Memory - 192 presets, 24 user Cheers, BigHairyKev :) ...

It's Rev Run Of D.M.C.

Advantages: Hints of quality
Disadvantages: Short tracks. Too few tracks. Weak rhymes

"Distortion" is the first solo album from the former Run-D.M.C. rapper, who used to be known as DJ Run. Now an official revered, Rev Run released this 2005 album under Def Jam to show that since the death of Jam Master Jay, although he won't do anymore D.M.C. work, he will continue to do what he does best as Rev Run. 1."I Used to Think I Was Run" This is the opener and has to do something big to show the progression made by the artists. I believe that it was attempted, as he comes with a steady flow, however I think that the heard production masked the problems with the content of the rhymes, which weren't that good. **Three Stars** 2. "Home Sweet Home" You get a strange one here as Revn raps on the "Sweet Home Alabama" beats, and does so with strongly contrasting MCing, which is done in the mid-eighties style, and it just doesn ...

Review of Distortion - Rev Run

The Yamaha Blaster - The small contender

Advantages: Lightweight, powerful 200cc two-stroke motor, proven over time
Disadvantages: Wheel base and width cause instability in some situations.

The Yamaha Blaster is a legend in its own right. It has been in production for many a year now and has sold in large numbers worldwide. Its success has mainly been down to the large spread of potential buyers that it caters for. Although its main target is the rookie rider, it has sufficient power to thrill most users while providing good value for money and great reliability. I have had my Blaster now for 7 years and had very few mechanical issues with her. Of course i have had to change tyres and top up fuel and oil levels when needed. I do as a matter of good maintenance, keep the chain and other moving parts oiled and greased, but this level of maintenance is expected on all such machines. I have recently rebuilt the top-end of my blaster engine and was very pleased to see that the condition of most of the internal waer parts was ...
