So its actually the xj600N i own but the only difference between the S and the N is the N has no fairing at all (a Naked bike) the S has the fairing.
Well i bought my XJ600n a year and a half ago now it's a 2003 model and to be honest its generally a great little commuter bike. Its ideal as a first big bike or a back to bikes starter.
My one has now only got 13000 miles on the clock and has not really given me much hassle. I have recently had to change the chain and sprockets because the chain bent (due to my oversized rear end and i dont mean the bike) this is work that all bikes need done though and is very easy and straight forward to do. adjusting the chains slackness is a simple procedure of turning two bolts at the back of the swing arm that pulls the rear wheel back and forth to tighten or loosen the chain (chain should ...

The Yamaha Blaster is a legend in its own right. It has been in production for many a year now and has sold in large numbers worldwide. Its success has mainly been down to the large spread of potential buyers that it caters for. I bought a 1994 Yamaha Diversion 5 months ago on ebay of all things. I paid pitance for it and put it on the road all ready to go for under £600 incl a whole spare engine!
As a first bike it was a marvellous choice for the novice rider as it sits up well and is beautifully balanced. It was also good at living life outdoors and always started up even after a prolonged absence. Fuel consumption is good with about 170 miles to a tank (currently £17 to fill up though). One thing to watch out for is rear tyre wear - seek advice as to a suitable rear tyre to accompany your front tyre otherwise the rear tyre will wear out that bit quicker - after 3,000 miles my new front tyre still had the knobbly bits on it, whilst the rear tyre of equal vintage was a lot more worn. Then again perhaps this says more about my riding than anything else ...
