The Yamaha Blaster - The small contender

Advantages: Lightweight, powerful 200cc two-stroke motor, proven over time
Disadvantages: Wheel base and width cause instability in some situations.

The Yamaha Blaster is a legend in its own right. It has been in production for many a year now and has sold in large numbers worldwide. Its success has mainly been down to the large spread of potential buyers that it caters for. Although its main target is the rookie rider, it has sufficient power to thrill most users while providing good value for money and great reliability. I have had my Blaster now for 7 years and had very few mechanical issues with her. Of course i have had to change tyres and top up fuel and oil levels when needed. I do as a matter of good maintenance, keep the chain and other moving parts oiled and greased, but this level of maintenance is expected on all such machines. I have recently rebuilt the top-end of my blaster engine and was very pleased to see that the condition of most of the internal waer parts was ...

Review of Yamaha Blaster

V-Star 1100- a True Classic

Advantages: handling, looks, size, weight, power
Disadvantages: not a Harley-Davidson

, but the bike handles well, with excellent feedback and competent road manners. The weight (just over 600 pounds accessoried and wet) of this mid-size works for you on th highway, yet not so much against you in the parking lot., though in my view, Harleys - even though they are from 70 - 200 pounds heavier- handle better than any other cruiser at low speeds. So, what conclusions can I draw after the three years I have ridden my V-Star? I say: great purchasde, got me back into riding and first-time into crusing from a Honda 550-Four last ridden in 1983. A terrific looking ride (especially in black with the straight chrome pipes and the driving lamps), and pretty good power- the upgrades (exhaust, air) have lifted my BHP to over 70 (respectable), and gave it more mid-range grunt than was available in stock form.
