Don't all investors hope their shares grow in value? Isn't everybody looking for growing returns from their money, whichever way it is invested? What exactly do we mean, then, by Growth Investing?
Last August, in the first article in this series, our resident growth guru TMF Nigel gave a succinct summary of what Growth Investing conventionally means. Essentially Nigel reckons that growth investors "attempt to find shares of companies that are growing and will continue to grow rapidly. In other words, their earnings are increasing rapidly and the share price is increasing along with those earnings."
