Yamaha YDS-11 MP3 player docking station

Advantages: very small
Disadvantages: need a pc to charge (unless you buy a USB charger)

...This docking station is used with the new tiny Apple Ipod shuffle. As you might imagine, the docking station is also extremely small. The docking station has two purposes. The iPod can be placed into the station in order to be charged. The other end fits into a USB port on your PC. You also need to use the docking station if you want to upload new music onto your iPod. This works in the same manner. As soon as you plug the docking station into the PC the Apple software loads. If you buy the new iPod shuffle then the docking station comes with it. However, if you lose it/break it (not easy) or want an extra one then you can buy it from many places. The best place is probably online as this is where you can buy it cheapest. Places like Amazon or Ebay seem to have the best prices with the cheapest around £5. Or you could buy... Read review

Advantages: Line out, s-video out, charge, sync, stand, remote control.
Disadvantages: Expensive for what it is.

...First of all, i purchased this when buying my 30GB black, a couple of things made me like this docking station, i prefer plugging it into my surround sound system so i this is why i went for it has a 3.5mm line out. Then, i could watch my music videos, using the 'S-VIDEO' out on the back of the dock. And i can charge/sync my ipod using the apple socket at the back. Only problem i found was, if you want to control your ipod remotely you have to purchase the apple remote. Which is another £20 in the shops, what i would reccommend which is what i did, was purchase a apple remote of ebay, obviously you might not be as lucky as me, but i managed to get one for £11 inc delivery off there. Also a good stand for it to sit there and look pretty :) and it comes with all the adapters to fit all ipods.... Read review
