think: A popular choice with students as well as doublers due to its easy playability, accurate intonation, and characteristic piccolo sound. The body is made of sturdy, maintenance-free ABS resin for a sound similar to that of natural wood. This model includes an E mechanism as is found on professional model piccolos. The durability of these instruments makes them ideal for beginners, while their accurate intonation helps students develop a good ear. Product Information: E mechanism. Silver-plated nickel silver. ABS resin body. Conical bore. Straight toneholes. Stainless steel springs. Straight (with head) pivot screws. Double bladder pads. Ribbed post mounting.

Advantages: Ok as a cheap flute for beginners Disadvantages: Poor tone, bad value for money!
...managed to teach myself this instrument in only a couple of months, because the finger patterens are roughly the same as the flute. Jazz flute is awsome too. I have limited experience in it, but would love to learn.
Unfortunantly, I also have limited experience with Piccolos or Alto flutes. But I'm hoping soon to get a yamahapiccolo. My advice to anyone who wants to buy a flute is make sure you buy a well known brand like yamaha or Trevor James. If your a beginner, most people go for the yamaha YFL211S which is a student flute and is fairly cheap. It doesn't have a solid silver head and is completely silver plated. If you are an intermediate flute player and want a Yamaha flute, go for the 311 or even better the 411, which is made of solid silver. However, to get this flute you are looking at £1400, and advanced flutes start at £1500...

Advantages: Design, fit, finish & sound excellent! Disadvantages: New lugs take a little getting used to.
...I bought my new Yamaha kit from Roli Garcia in Laredo, Texas. He's been my drum dealer now for about 6 years and offers great service before, during and after the sale. I first highly recommend you check him out, no matter what part of the country you are in. He's on ebay as "drumroom". Now on to the drums....NOUVEAU
My first choice through Roli was a DW Collectors series kit in a wrap finish. He told me when I went to plunk down the deposit that he was now a Yamaha dealer and that they had some great kits in stock. I told him I would go check out the newest Yamaha kit I could find at my local drum shop and do some comparisons -vs- the Collector Series from DW.
Price wise there is no real comparison with the Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Nouveau kit in the same sizes coming in at about 30% less retail than the DW's. Yamaha...

Advantages: Elegant style, Beautiful Instrument Samples, XG MIDI Compatability, Floppy Disk Drive Disadvantages: Keys, although semi-weighted, still not very realistic
...I was quite shocked to see that this product was not available to comment upon and write about the other day when I decided to try writing another opinion. As soon as I realised this, I used the "Suggest Product" thingy in Ciao. And now to my delight, this product has been added to the list ;)
I have been a Yamaha user all of my life, since the age of 2 when my parents bought me a little toy keyboard to mash about with. Progressing from the little toy Yamaha Portatone I eventually went through a whole range of Yamaha keyboards as I have grown up, up to a few months ago when I had a Yamaha PSR-170 which was being used to help me in my Music-Tech studies at school. Although that was a lovely little keyboard, it completely lacked the realistic Grand Piano sound that it said it had. And also, from a very early age, it was my dream...
