Advantages: Better picture,sound. Disadvantages: can't record on it.
...I bought the dvp s-325 because i heard that dvd players where very good.
In what way where the good?
They are good in the sound departmentand i did'nt think there was much of a difference between video and dvd but there is.the remote control is a very good advantage to the dvd.
The special features on the dvd is very good and that is another advantage to the dvd.
My aunt from england bought a dvd player because she had a look at mine so show you're friends it and they will see how good it is.
I think dvd is much better than video and i would suggest it to anyone who was buying a dvd....

...cable. It also has RF (TV) In and Out at the back. The RF is purely for recording and you can not play back through the RF.
- It measures 430mm x 78mm x 325mm and is in a Silver finish with a green display (can be dimmed).
- The remote is light grey with sturdy buttons and a flap at the bottom to access videoplus and number keys.
In summary, this isn't the cheapest hard disk/dvd recorder on the market but it is very easy to use, packed with features and excellent quality. A lot of thought seems to have gone into what a consumer may want to do rather than what is the latest gimmick that no one will ever use. If you want to be able to edit your home videos and transfer them to DVD, this recorder is definitely what you're looking for....
