Advantages Lovely as usual from Yankee!
Disadvantages None at all
When I found out my parents were coming to visit me for a couple of days the first thing I felt was panic! Yes I had a huge amount of clearing and cleaning up to do granted however I was more worried about smells in my home to be perfectly honest with you!
I smoke, I own 4 beautiful Syrian hamsters and my best mate and our shared poodle Daisy are here ever such a lot lol. Sure I open the windows and the likes however on top of all the above things that can stink a place out I have a very bad case of damp in my flat which really does smell musty and mildewed.
So of course I cleaned the place up top to tow, opened out the windows and removed as much of the black damp as I could from my ceilings and walls and pretty pleased I was too! The place had never smelt better in actual fact lol. However I knew I needed some contiuous scent in my home and that a blast of air freshener wouldn't do it!
I am a massive fan of all things Yankee thanks to you lot getting me involved in the brand on here with all your great reviews. I was a late comer to the range but I believe once you use a Yankee you'll soon stop using inferior candles, home fragrances and tarts and the likes and me, well I am a huge fan of the wax tarts as at about £1.20 a tart they can scent a home for up to 8 hours a time which I think offers not only an economical product but the scent of a gorgeous good quality one as well and I use nothing else nowadays. Of course the tarts go into an oil burner with a flame under from a tea light though I know people that chop a tart up as well and pop them in their drawers and wardrobes and the likes as well! Me I simply burn them and I have quite a huge stash of these little tarts in my home at the moment.
The scent I wanted in my flat when my parents came was one that wasn't too harsh. My Step Father is known for not liking air frehseners and incense sticks and things like that and when we lived in the same home he always was moaning on at me about them so I wanted something quite subtle but fragrancing enough to disguise the above aromas I was so worried about.
The Packaging:
Well my little pure white wax fluted tart came in a tight see-through plastic wrapper and on the top of it there was a label and on that label there is an outside washing line scene depicted on it and we are told that it is indeed Yanke Candle Clean Cotton 'With pure, natural extracts' then on the bottom of the tart little symbols are shown of dos and dont's are shown and contact details for Yankee are given. Course you can buy this in candle and home fragrance forms and the candles come in a variety of sizes and prices too.
The Tart:
Well all I do with my tart is to put it in whole into the top of an oil burner or if I'm using a smaller oil burner break off what I need which is easy to do so and then light a tea light under and thats it. I leave it to warm up, become liquid and release its aroma.
I do use unscented Yankee Candle tealights at the moment and have found them to burn more evenly and last longer than ones I was buying on the high street cheaply for loads of them and so far so good.....
