Fruit Fusion

Fruit Fusion is a 2012 fragrance release from Yankee Candle. It is currently available in different formats to suit all budgets including jars, tumblers, tea lights, votives and wax tarts. For those unfamiliar with Yankee Candle, a wax tart is a disc of wax which has been infused with essential oils. It should be melted in a tart burner and can be re-used. Each tart is designed to offer at least 8 hours of fragrance.

The Fruit Fusion wax tart is a deep orange colour and is presented in a tight plastic wrapper. The label on the front shows some fresh fruit to reflect the fragrance you should receive from this tart. The official Yankee description for Fruit Fusion is..

'Summer-licious...berries, orange and lime make this sunny fruit blend refreshingly tart and sweet'.

As you would expect from a new release, Fruit Fusion is likely to be stocked by your local Yankee Candle stockist. It is widely available online from sites such as Amazon, eBay and www.yankeescents4.com. The tart averages at £1.20 and the most expensive option is the large housewarmer jar which is priced around the £20 mark.

My Thoughts

I am a firm believer of 'try before you buy' and Yankee Candle is no example. The jars are very expensive so buying a wax tart is the purse-friendly way of experiencing the delights of Yankee Candle. I paid £10 for 10 tarts including one each of the new 2012 releases which I feel was a bit of a bargain. Fruit Fusion would have appealed to me anyway as I love fruity smells in my home.

I melt Yankee tarts on a daily basis and Fruit Fusion is the perfect day time scent for warmer weather so the 'summer' notion is very much warranted in this case. It is suitable for Spring too though. I popped this in my tart bowl, lit the tea light and within 15 minutes, the tart had fully melted to reveal a pool of burnt orange coloured wax. I was attract to this fragrance from the moment I retrieved it from its wrapper and if you are a fan of fruity scents - this one will appeal!

Fruit Fusion started to fill my home within 10 minutes of the tart melting. It takes little to no time to filter around our whole flat. It never overpowered or appeared cloying - it simply offered a beautiful, noticeable level of fragrance to each room and took over any other household smells. I melt tarts in my living room so the living room and kitchen can experience the full 'flavour' of this delightful wax tart.

Fruit Fusion offers an amazing fruity fragrance and is quite strong. It is a vibrant, refreshing scent which simply reminds me of a fresh, fruity Summery drink which most would have relaxing in their garden as the Sun sits high in the sky - my balcony catches quite a bit of sun so I will sit our there with my drink! At first, it reminds me of tropical flavoured Sunny D juice with its thirst quenching, juicy notes.

It settles to a reveal a more natural juicy flavour. It is citrussy and sweet at the same time and the combination works very well. The main body of the scent reminds me of a fragrant version of Tropicana Orange and Lime.

It is deliciously sweet, fruity and the orange and lime notes shine through well. Whilst this is a citrussy scent, it is more sweet than it is zingy and is simply a refreshing treat which offers a bright, airy ambience for my home.

Conclusion

All in all I love the way Fruit Fusion makes my home smell. The sweetness compliments the fruity notes perfectly giving a natural, welcoming feel to my home during the warmer days. I managed to witness around 10 hours of scent from my tart so excellent value for money. I can highly recommend Fruit Fusion.
