A little Yankee info ...
Like scented candles? Yankee is a company that is based in the US and produces a wide range of candles in assorted sizes and fragrances. The candle I am reviewing here is a wax tart and probably should't technically be described as a candle as it has no wick. Instead, you pop the tart into a special tart burner - or you can just use a normal oil burner as I do - and light a tealight underneath to melt the wax and release the fragrance. You can generally get up to ten hours use out of the tarts as you can re-use them.

I actually bought a bulk lot of wax tarts on ebay recently, so this cost me £1. I recommend shopping around online as the prices do vary but you should be able to pick this up for around the £1-£1.50 mark.

Spicy and fruity
This particular tart is an intense orange colour. I unwrapped this and popped it into my oil burner hours before I actually lit it, and every time I walked past I could smell the quite strong, almost spicy scent of the fruit. The scent is described as "summer-licious" with a fusion of berries, orange and lime. For me, I would say that the orange fragrance was the most obvious...

Eventually I lit the nightlight in my burner, and as with all the wax tarts this melted rapidly, leaving me with a pool of orange deliciousness in my burner! The smell filled the room within minutes and I find it quite unusual. Although it is very fruity, there is more to it than that and for me there is definitely a slight spiciness - almost like cinnamon - in there somewhere! It is a really lovely scent, and I love how it makes my home smell! The smell really does drift around the downstairs of my house nicely and you can smell it the second you walk in the room - even after only a short time of burning.

In summary...

I love this wax tart. It is a lovely fresh fruity scent but it isn't at all sickly - the slight hint of spice stops it from being too sweet or cloying. It is great value as you don't need to burn it for long at all for the scent to start drifting around. So if you like fruity scents then I would highly recommend this!
