I love decorating my home with candles and one of the cheaper ways of doing this is with tea lights. At Christmas especially when the days are short its so nice to have lots of little candles around and I have lots of Christmas decorations that take tea lights in order to light them up so I have have a ready supply on hand.

For those of you who are not aware of tea lights, they are little mini candles, about the size of a mini Babybel cheese and they fit nicely in the palm of your hand.

If I could I would fill and decorate my home with lots of Yankee Candles in the jars but I am not that rich so have to rely on their tea lights instead.

The tea lights come in a nice box of 12 but are each individually in their own plastic holder to burn them in. You can't get the tea light out of the plastic holder so would be unable to use these little candles in a fragrance burner or anything like that.

Now onto the smell. One of the new flavours as I call them that I got this year was the Yankee Candle Mango Peach salsa scented tea lights. I was firstly attracted to them because this is something I would eat in a nice Mexican restaurant with some corn chips, gorgeous, so I thought in a candle they would be nice too!

The fragrance is described by Yankee Candle as, "Sweet and zesty juicy mangoes and peaches livened with citrus, ginger flowers and pink pepper." What I love about the smell is that it is definitely very fruity but then you get this lovely warm peppery smell afterwards which is just a bit different and more interesting than a plain fruit smell.

The tea lights smell very strong when you can sniff them under your nose but when you burn them I find they are not as strong. However, I think this is because I burn them for quite a while and just get used to the fragrance in the air. Each tea light weighs 9.8g and will burn for approximately 4-6 hours. What's great is that they burn themselves out really easily when they get to the end of the wax so although you should still be careful as they are a naked flame they just sort of puff out as they burn down and just leave a little metal disc that the wick was on.

I bought my box at the local garden centre and paid £5.99 for a box of 12.
