Simply Stunning!
Advantages A stunning citrus fragrance, a longer burn time than Yankee Candle say
Disadvantages None at all, it's beautiful
I adore Yankee Candle, preferring the wax tarts to the jars simply because I like plenty of variety in my life and the tarts are the very best way to experience new fragrances. A good friend in the US sent me this Tangerine tart, a fragrance I hadn't come across before during my hours of searching online for different tarts - I knew I was going to love it as soon as the envelope popped through the door as I could smell the most delicious orange scent even before I realised who my lovely parcel was from!
For those of you not in the know, a wax tart is basically a wickless candle which you melt over a tealight in a specially designed tart burner. As the heat from the tealight melts the wax the scent is released into the air, there are a plethora of fragrances to choose from - this one, as the name would suggest, being from their US (apparently exclusive, although I can't confirm this) fruity collection.
I started burning it from almost the instant it arrived, and loved it instantly. The tart itself is a beautiful burnished orange colour, it almost seemed a shame to melt it as it was so pretty to look at! Within a few short minutes a subtle fresh orange fragrance was making its way around my living room, I was actually a little surprised at how delicate the initial scent was as the pre-melted tart was literally bursting with fragrance! I was just about to start muttering to myself about how rubbish this Tangerine tart was when suddenly I realised the scent had intensified rapidly to create the most stunning citrus aroma, it's not exactly like opening a tangerine and preparing to eat but the fragrance really isn't far off at all!
It's rich and zesty, but with a sweetness that just screams 'tangerine' rather than plain 'orange'. It's surprisingly natural smelling and creates an extremely fresh atmosphere inside my home - as my house is very open plan I was impressed by how well the fragrance travelled the length and breadth of both upstairs and downstairs. There are very few wax tarts which can be smelled in every room of my house, but this one permeates the air to such a degree that you'll be smelling tangerines just about everywhere - and impressively for well over an hour after the tealight has extinguished. Yankee Candle suggested I'd get around eight hours of fragrance from one Tangerine tart, but it's exceeded expectations and I'm now on (roughly) my tenth hour and there's no sign of the rich fragrance diminishing.
I am highly impressed with this particular Yankee Candle tart, it creates a delicious atmosphere in my home and is a fragrance that we (unusually!) all agree is absolutely beautiful. I dislike using spray air fresheners as I think they lie very heavily in the air and create a cloying ambience, I walked into a discount store in Birmingham recently and had to walk straight back out again as their attempts at freshening the air with a spray had made the whole place reek of hiding dirty smells rather than actually cleaning the store. Burning a wax tart will actually scent a room, rather than just masking any irritating bad smells that are lingering - and who doesn't want to eradicate a bad smell?! To be fair the only smell in my home is baby-related (without going into too much 'nappy detail') as we have no pets to create a stink, but I find the best way to look on Yankee Candle in general is that it will make your home as welcoming as possible - as we currently have our house on the market this is most important to me, hopefully any potential buyers will think so too!
