YES Water based lubricants
WHY ARE YOU INSPIRED TO WRITE THIS
I think that the company that makes these lubricants is a first in what they are doing. They have created natural lubricants that do not use petroleum or silicone or glycerin based products at all. All their products are certified organic to guarantee their purity. The ingredients in this are ones that have been passed as safe for either organic, cosmetic and food quality .
They are a truly ethical company with no animal parts in their products and none of them tested on animals either.
If you check out their website they are also committed to human rights and that means throughout their company and their suppliers as well as listening to their customers and not many companies declare that promise.
They use plant based ingredients that are CERTIFIED organically grown where possible. They use Fair trade ingredients where available and never use wild plants or genetically modified ones.
“YES” also believe in reusing and recycling. They do so in the office and all their packaging is fully recyclable too.
YES STATE: Yes designs, formulates and creates products that as a minimum are certified organic, which guarantees their profound purity as well as all the other reasons why choosing certified organic is important.
Our products outperform their old style equivalents (where there are equivalents). Yes products treat our bodies and our minds with respect.
We refuse to use any ingredient that has health concerns attached to it, further we refuse to use bad science. An example of bad science is using a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) (typically 100% pure material) and saying that MSDS data is how the material will behave at 0.2% concentration. “
WHAT ABOUT THIS PRODUCT THEN?
In the selection starter pack you get to try the full range of their lubricants. At present this is for sale at £10 which is 25% less that the full price and you get to try a range to see which products suit you best.
So inside this neat little cardboard box you get: a 25ml bottle of Yes oil-based lubricant, a 25ml bottle of Yes water-based lubricant, 2 applicators prefilled with Yes water-based, a sachet each of Yes oil-based and Yes water-based.
WATER BASED LUBRICANTS
These come in three forms in the selection box. You get a small version of their bottle that they sell with 25ml of lubricant, a sachet with enough water based lubricant for one use and finally my favourite which is an applicator filled with water based lubricant enough for one use.
The applicator has a sort of long spout that fits nicely inside the vagina and can be inserted prior to any sexual activity so that no loss of interest take place while you apply the stuff. There is plenty of the lubricant in the applicator so no need to add more either.
The water based lubricants are made from water-retaining plant polymers to rehydrate delicate tissues. They are pH balanced so match the vaginal environment and so are less likely to cause thrust. The lubrication feels totally natural and there is no smell or stickiness after use. This lubricant is also safe to use with condoms. You can of course use this as a vaginal moisturiser or other sexual lubricant as well.
COMPARING TO OTHER LUBRICANTS
'Yes' contain no parabens while other do and parabens have been linked to mimicking oestrogen and causing breast cancer.
Interestingly 'Holland & Barrett will be the first major name to remove any product that contains parabens or sodium lauryl sulphate from its 525 stores.' So obviously there is something in the research that has been going on re parabens and such. Let's hope Lush take some notice of this too.
'Yes' has no glycerine while all other lubricants of this nature do contain glycerine and glycerine can be a skin irritant and cause thrush.
'Yes' has no glycols which some other lubricants do have and these are known to disrupt cell walls and allow chemicals through cell walls and into the bloodstream.
'Yes' has no grapefruit seed extract which has been banned in personal care products but not too sure why!
'Yes' has no sodium benzonate which is a skin irritant.
'Yes' has no mineral oil content which is a petroleum bi- product and thought to suffocate the skin while coating it.
Yes are animal friendly an the water based ones are vegan friendly too.
I was very impressed with this water based lubricant and found that they were very effective and natural feeling. With other lubricants I hated the nasty cold feeling while applying them but with 'Yes' water based lubricants they feel as though they belong to you and feel perfectly natural.
The other thing I noticed was that these lubricants didn't become dry after a short time and there was no nasty sticky feeling either which is something I was not keen on with other lubricants.
Considering that where you apply these lubricants is one of the most sensitive and sensitive places in the body it makes sense to only use safe and natural products and I for one am thrilled to have found this range.
They are not cheap with these water based lubricants costing:
25ml / 0.9fl oz - £4.99 75ml / 2.6fl oz -£9.99 125ml / 4.4fl oz -£16.49 6 x 25ml / 0.9fl oz -£24.95 Applicators x 6 - Carton -£11.99 Applicators x 24 (4 for 3) -£34.99 Applicators x 30 - Bag -£34.99 Intro selection Pack of mixed oil ans water based lubricants - £9.99
I am so pleased that I was asked to try these lubricants and my husband was pretty pleased too! They were both excellent but I think my favourite was the water based applicator as it was so neat and easy to use as well as being effective as a lubricant.
Thanks so much for reading and hope this might be of interest to some of you. This review may be posted on other sites under my same user name.
