The Yorkshire Terrier is a British man-made dog and was introduced fairly recently. In the 1850's some Scottish weavers brought a small terrier dog with them from Scotland to Yorkshire. These 'Scotch Terriers,' sometimes known as 'Halifax Terriers' interbred with local small terriers. It is believed that Yorkies have some of the Manchester Terrier, the Maltese, the Skye, Dandie Dinmont and the Paisley terriers in them. The Yorkshire ... ...
To buy a Yorkshire Terrier puppy will cost you anything in the region of £150 - £500 - some top class pedigrees can cost you £800.00. We got paid £150 .00 for Teddy (now 7 years old) and £160.00 for Scrappy (now 2 ½ years old). I am not convinced that either of them are from a very good pedigree family but they are both pedigrees and have their certificates to prove it. I think they were very cheap. Teddy's pedigree name is Tedrington Pudroe ...

*Yorkies*
Yorkshire Terriers are also known by the name “Broken – Haired Scottish Terrier.”
Yorkshire Terriers were originally bred as ratting dogs and were used to go down small holes and chase out anything in there such as rats. This instinct is still clearly visible in these dogs as we can tell from our little yorkie who is always squeezing into small gaps and he will chase anything that moves!
The Yorkshire Terrier breed was developed ... ...Dandie Dinmont, Maltese and Skye Terriers.
Yorkies are very small dogs and are usually around 9ins (23cm) tall (short!) and they weigh in at around 7lb (3kg)
Yorkies are usually black and brown in colour. Their colours and markings come out more as they grow up. When they are born, yorkies are mostly if not completely all black.
*Pendle*
Pendle is my 3 year old yorkie. He is tiny and extremely cute.

Puppy Power Review ofYorkshire Terrierby

Advantages: Very intelligent and with great temprement Disadvantages: Be prepared to spend a lot of time grooming them
I got my Yorkshire Terrier, Misty when he was 9 weeks old. He is now 18 months. I had always had big dogs before, German Shepherds and Dalmations, but moved to a smaller house around the same time I lost my last dog, and decided to get one to fit the surroundings, so to speak.
I have several friends who have Yorkshire Terriers. Like a lot of people, I was under the impression that they were yappy, snappy dogs. However, I started spending time with ... ...but he and all his Yorkshire Terrier friends are the exact opposite. Obviously he will have a bark if someone comes to the door or if he gets over excited, but most dogs do. Its not a problem at all though as as soon as we tell him to, he stops barking and just sits with his tail wagging.
We took him to the vet for checkups etc when we got him, and other than ear mites, have had no problems, although the vet did say that a lot of dogs of this breed ...

I have two Yorkshire terriers one called Jake who is 5 years old and the other called Pippa who is 9 years old, who is a miniature yorkie. They are a affectionate dog which don't have a over load of demands and only need a little walk around the block a few times and there ready to come home, {there energy levels are medium and can outstand around 50-69 minutes}
How much for a Yorkshire terrier:
I bought Jake for £180, which I could consider very ... ...The average age for a Yorkshire to live is 9 - 15 years.
Feeding:
We feed our dogs once everyday with a bowl of meat mixed into some biscuits so really they don't eat a lot even my dogs look fat on 1 bowl! Average bill per a week per a dog: £4 Is that all!
Are they easy to train: They are extremely clever little dogs that need firm training. They like to be kept busy, so is they get bored they will do something themselves. They have a great taste ...

Advantages: Excellent service. Quick and responsive. Disadvantages: Not that cheap.
...Our old dog Holly died over the Millennium. She was a sixteen year old YorkshireTerrier. For most of her life she had been by herself but eight months before her demise we decided to get her another female companion.
Jodie, A YorkshireTerrier pup, was purchased from a dealer along with Pet Plan Insurance. A couple of months later we realised that if Holly passed away then Jodie would be all by herself. We then decided to buy Kissy from the same dealer. Kissy was another YorkshireTerrier pup who seemed to be full of life, but within two week she started fitting. We took her to our vet and after a biopsy was discovered that she had a damaged liver. She had to be put down. Our vet delt with the claim form and Pet Plan paid us within two weeks. We decided that the money was best spent on buying another pup and we got summer, another...

...With recently having a dog we decided to feed her Pedigree pouches, she loved them we started off buying her the puppy packs which she enjoyed, when she was old enough we started buying her the small adult dog packs which contains eight pouches for £2.88 (Sainsbury's).
It contains 2 with chicken, 2 with lamb and poultry. 2 with rabbit and 2 with beef, there is just enough in each pouch for her, as we have a Yorkshireterrier she does not eat a lot but she really enjoys these pouches and I found them to be good value for money. They do smell a little but so does all dog food and have big chunks of meat in them within minutes her bowl is completely empty. They are gently cooked which helps to retain more vitamins

Poodles.
Poodles come in 3 sizes. Standard, Miniature and Toy.
Standard Poodles are the largest of them all they can grow very large (a bit bigger than a Labrador!) and as with all big dogs they need lots of exercise.
Miniature Poodles are the middle size, they can be about as big as a spaniel and they too also need plenty of exercise.
Toy poodles are the smallest and in my opinion the best out of all 3! They can be anything from about as big as a Yorkshireterrier to the size of a small spaniel. Max is a toy poodle and he is almost as big as my friends Cavalier King Charles.
Poodles also come in a variety of colours including, black, apricot, white and chocolate.
Grooming.
Poodles require A LOT of grooming. They have coats made...
