(+) Good Value and super classy smell, not too strong but will be noticeable. (-) None for me ,although the bottle could be a little more elegant to match the smell.
Advantages: Smells nice (always good in a perfume...) Disadvantages: Costs a lot

As you may or may not know, I've just come back from a week sunning myself on the French Riviera. I had an amazing time - sun, sea, sand (well, pebbles, but at least I didn't get sandy knickers), cheap alcohol (have equipped myself with some Absinthe - ooh I'm so classy!!), and of course, perfume! Shamefully, I was initially drawn to this perfume by the shocking pink box, spinning top-style bottle and the overly girly name. I was a little shocked to see it was by someone as classy as Yves Saint Laurent, as it gave the impression of being a real barbie doll perfume.

I'm totally incapable of going to France and not coming back with at least one bottle of perfume - it hasn't happened to me since I was about 10 years old, and, er, didn't wear perfume. Not particularly surprising then that when I wasn't lazing around by the sea I was almost always to be found gazing adoringly at the various perfume bottles on display in the local shops.
Now usually when I go on a perfume spree, I look for new bottles of my old perfumes, but as I still have oodles of my favourites left, I thought I'd treat myself to something new and exciting. After sniffing my way around the whole of Nice, I settled on Baby Doll by Yves Saint Laurent.
Shamefully, I was initially drawn to this perfume by the shocking pink box, spinning top-style bottle and the overly girly name. I was a little shocked to see it was by someone as classy as Yves Saint Laurent, as it gave the impression of being a real barbie doll perfume.
I gave it a little squirt out of curiosity (and also because I thought the box would look great on my dressing table... shallow? moi?). My first impression was that it did live up to the image conjoured up by its name - on application, this scent is very sweet, but not overpoweringly so. It does settle pretty quickly though, and the sweetness is soon accompanied by warmer scents.
Apparently the notes in this perfume are "Grapefruit, Red Currant, Rhubarb, Wild Roses, Freesia, Ginger, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Pomegranate, Grenadine, Cedarwood and Peach", which isn't necessarily the order in which you notice them. To me, the most powerful of these notes are Rose, Grenadine and Cedarwood, but then my nose is not particularly well-trained in the field of perfume.
This is quite a strong scent - a little really does go a long way, and keeps it at "sexy" level, rather than "people passing out as they walk past you in the street" level. It is also long lasting. As with all perfumes, the top notes become less prominent after a while, but the deeper base notes remain - and they're what is really gorgeous about this perfume to me - they give a sweet as candy scent a sexy edge.
As I got this in France, I can't comment first hand on how the prices compare between shops in Britain, but according to www.theperfumeshop.com, 30ml of the Eau de Toilette will set you back £19.99, 50ml £29.00, and 100ml £39.99. There are other products available with the same scent, which include body lotion and shower mousse (ooh!!).
All in all, I'd recommend this perfume to any remotely girly girl who likes to think of herself as having a decidedly sexy side (So, me then?!).
Advantages: will last Disadvantages: sickly sweet, and may roll around the table
In search for a bit of a change of perfume, my eye was caught by a cerise spinning top on the perfume counter. I was reluctant to try the perfume, as I’m not keen on Paris. Baby Doll, though, is not like Paris This is a very thick, sweet smell. It lingers and transfers easily onto everything you touch. It smells as “pink” as the bottle it comes in. The name is a bit of a drag; but I suppose the smell conjures up 60’s chiffon and hairspray for those ... ...is not necessarily as bad as it sounds - reminiscent of brand new Barbies out of the box! (I know you remember!). It is a little too much of an acquired taste to give as a present but for those boyfriends out there you could give it with a wink. This kind of perfume is definitely not for everyday, much more suited for a party or night on the town as it can compete with the smoke and other people’s perfume! ;)
The drawbacks are that it can overpower ...

Advantages: It can make you feel like a million dollars even on the most average of days! Disadvantages: I want to use it all the time so I am always buying it!
What can I say....? Every girl has got to have her favourite perfume and Babydoll is mine in so many ways!!!
The first thing that attracted me to this perfume wasn't infact the scent but the colour of the bottle! I lurve pink and the feminity of the colour, I would have everything pink if it wouldn't make me and everything around me look like a marshmallow! The second thing was the shape of the bottle, it was very different in my eyes, not your ... ...more extravagent ideas for shapes all the time nowadays! When holding the bottle up to the light it reminds me of one of those 'snow storms' you get which you shake up and watch the snow fall over the house or whatever they have inside! It appears to have an almost glittery effect inside the bottle, which I fell in love with straight away!! To me it was an added bonus, an almost secret gift that you only got if you brought the perfume!! Last but ...

Advantages: made by a designer name, lasts well! Disadvantages: horrible smell
As a fan of Paris, I thought I'd have a squirt of this at the perfume counter, boy was I wrong!!
It is one of the most disgusting smells that I've ever tried!!!
It smells like a bag of sweets, candy and sugary stuff, absolutley gross!!!
The bottle was ok, more like a squashed version of the Paris bottle, but ok, it's a bit on the expensive side, and you don't get much for your money!
I thought it was horrible, although it had good staying power, ... ...off my wrist.
I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who likes smelling nice and fresh, this is very sickly and sweet.
Avoid this one on the perfume counter and if you want that smell, buy a bag of sweets instead, it's cheaper and won't make you as sick as the perfume would! ...

Advantages: light, sweet, stays on for a long time Disadvantages: its simply great!
I bought this product when i was shopping, and when walking through the perfumes section, i decided to see what Babydoll smells like and i fell in love with this smell.
It comes in a very original bottle, in 3 different sizes and is packaged very nicely and would make a great present. The scent is absolutely gorgeous. It is quite a gentle fruity smell, but it is very light and breezy, different to all the others. It is great to wear as a day and ...

Advantages: Sweet, Light, Refreshing. Good Value For Money. Cute Bottle. Disadvantages: Become sickly after a while.
I recieved this for my birthday and would reccommend it for ocassional daytime use. It is best worn in casual, informal places such as maybe attending a barbecue or garden party. It has a very sweet floral smell which is perfect in warm weather. It is quite light and fruity which is perfect for me as I don't like to reek of perfume but rather leave a lingering scent as I pass someone.
People always compliment me whenever I have this on as I think ... ...a sensual, seductive scent so definately one to use if you're trying to impress that special someon.
The bottle is shaped like a spinning top, which I think is really cute, and I especially love the gold top.
This perfume does have a few drawbacks though, namely that it is obviously a daytime scent. On the few occassions I wore it at night I noticed that it became rather sickly smelling and quite sticky. However all in all I reccomend this product ...

Advantages: Unusal desgin Disadvantages: Can't buy bath and body products
My cousin brought round some perfumes for me to try and among them was Angel Innocent.
Angel Innocent is lighter than the original Angel fragrance, it comes in a body spray style can, but it is an Eau de parfum, which makes it an unusal design and very easy to use.
The fragrance is very light and talc like, it’s also sweet like vanilla but not sickly like Babydoll Paris by YvessaintLaurent. It’s quiet a young scent but could also be worn by the slightly more mature woman. It’s very feminine but sexy not girly.
It’s more of a evening scent, but you could get away with wearing it anytime of day.
The packaging is a box in silver and pale blue with a white star burst on the front. The canister is also silver rimmed with a silver nozzle. The middle is pale blue again with a white star burst with the words ...
