Opium Opium was launched by Yves Saint Laurent in 1977 and is described as being a ?refined, subtle, oriental fragrance.? Packaging Opium is packaged in a classic box which is a bright amber colour and is decorated with gold leaves. The bottle itself is see through and is an oval shape and made from glass. The lid is plastic and is an amber / brown colour with gold trimming around the edges. The bottle has leaves embossed onto it. On the front of the bottle the words Opium and Eau de Toilette are written in amber / brown. Price This perfume is available in several sizes and prices do really vary from shop to shop so it?s definitely worth shopping around. Yves Saint Laurent Opium - Not for me!

Advantages: Amazing staying power, easily available
Disadvantages: Very heady and clinging

I know this perfume has it´s dedicated followers, ´"addicts" even! who would not consider wearing anything else. Additionally, men seem to buy it a lot for their ladies, so maybe men find it attractive (sensual even), or, they are following the crowd or the sales girl. BUT SORRY! for me who had this bought for me as a present by a well meaning boyfriend, you cannot get rid of the scent, it follows you without mercy, lives in your wardrobe and on your best dress and hovers around you ALL the time. I found it far too strong and heady for me. However, for those who like Opium, it has to be said it has FANTASTIC staying power, is modern and attractively packaged, and although not cheap, one does not need to use a lot. All I would advise - ladies, when testing, make sure you test for at least a few hours and see if you still find it ...

Coco Chanel Mademoiselle Eau De Parfum

Advantages: Gorgeous Smell
Disadvantages: A tad expensive

I bought this product myself, whilst going on holiday in the duty free section. Part of the reason for this is because it is very expensive, especially the eau de parfum. This is a lovely fragrance that is sweet smelling that after one spray lasts for ages, which is why I think it is worth the money spent because it means you have to use less of the perfume, which with some others you have to spray numerous times, over the course of the day in order to still smell it. Whereas, with this one, that isn't necessary. However, I recommend buying the eau de toilette if you don't want to spend as much money, but again, it may mean you have to use more of it. Buy this product if you feel like splurging and treating yourself. It also makes a really nice gift and in my experience, lasts a significant amount of time. I think this is ...
