The fragrance itself is quite light and not too overpowering so it is equally suitable for wearing during the day or during the evening. It also means that it would be an excellent choice of gift for someone whose tastes you weren't quite sure of.
The design of the packaging and the containers holding the perfumes and powders are all a distinctive blue, silver and black, which makes them instantly recognisable as Rive Gauche.
The 50ml eau de toilette spray currently costs £26 in the Empire Stores catalogue, but I would imagine that it could be bought more cheaply at one of the many supermarkets that now stock designer perfumes.

I have found that one of the best places for buying this perfume is Boots the Chemists. They stock a good range and you can either buy them and get Advantage Points on your purchase or alternatively use your Advantage Points to purchase the perfume in the first place.
Actually that’s not such a bad idea! If I don’t get any for my birthday or Christmas this year I shall have to treat myself with my Advantage Points shan’t I?

Thi perfume could be worn in day but I think it is for night. It comes in different measures but I have the 50ml bottle which is around £26+ I am not too sure. The smell is hard to describe, I ... ...story because most have an Yves Saint Laurent counter.
If you are not too sure about the smell then you should go to the counter and ask to test because many people might have a different opinion of what the smell is. I am sure there are sometimes offers on with this and other products with the rive gauche range. If you do not have anywhere to buy you can order from catalogues. I have been using rive gauche for more than 10 yrs and have tried others during that time but have never really found another that i loved as much, it's fragrance is sweet but not overpowering and i find it suits me and i am often told so, people say they love the smell and ask me what it is, then they go out and buy it too. So we can't all be wrong. I also find that certain fragrances can give me headaches too but i have never had one while wearing ...

Although I tend to use just one or two perfumes now - ones which are
eminently suitable for my years - I used to wear Rive Gauche in my
twenties as I feel it is a younger person's fragrance ... with a

Perfumes come and go. Many these days in bottles far more interesting than their contents. And manufacturers try and think up more and more marketing gimmicks. But, nearly 40 years on from its invention, Rive Gauche is still going strong. The Name
Rive Gauche, which means "Left Bank" in French, was created a few years after the student demonstrations and riots in Paris, and Paris's Left bank has always been associated with artistic types, ... ...romance. So- the name was of its time.
The Scent What's really nice about Rive Gauche is the fact it is a fresh, uniquely floral fragrance with top notes of bergamot, ylang ylang and freesia. With hints, also, of rose and jasmine. It is not "in you face" hasn't got that horrid chemical scent you get from more modern perfumes, and it;s timeless. The Packaging

I have been using Rive Gauche for over 20 years.I try others but always return to it. Its fragrance is slightly sweet, does not give me a headache as some of the heavier ones do is long lasting, and many people comment on how nice it smells. My husband says if he ever smells it it reminds of me and when I wear it he tel l s me how sexy it is.
