The sound of a revolution

Advantages: Great sound, sturdy, easy to use
Disadvantages: Only runs off mains power

Before I got my iPod and sounddock, I was one of those who refuses to subscribe to the technological revolution. Prefering hi-fi and compact disc to the digital music phenomenon. However, within a week (once I'd worked out how to use it), I was hooked on my iPod and once I got the sound-dock, there was no turning back. I think it's fairly safe to say that the era of compact disc players and tape decks is over... The only reason I still have a normal cd player in my house is to listen to the radio, and those few albums that I just haven't got around to putting on my iPod yet. The Bose sound-dock is a piece of mastery in the area of audio technology. Beautiful, sleek and streamlined; it's large frontal speaker provides both volume and sound quality. The music I play on the sound-dock sounds almost incomparably better than CDs ...

Review of Bose SoundDock Digital Music System

One of the BEST choice for sound card.

Advantages: smaller size, usb connection support, 3D sound experience, very cheap, high SNR ratio.
Disadvantages: Does not support all OS, requires very powerful processor& ram,all features not works on XP

on the data bus speed available for that usb port. In modern days, almost all the PC got USB port 2.0, which enable this sound card to provide the maximum output as in stereo/surround sound 24 bit/96kHz and also can go along with up to 5.1 speaker system, truly amazing isn?t it? But if the USB is 1.1 then the output sound quality drastically drops to 16 bit/kHz in case of surround sound. Creative technology claimed to have SNR 100dB, SNR stands for signal to noise ratio, as the higher the ratio, the less obtrusive the background noise will be and also the clearer output sound will be. So virtually, there will be no noise effect for this sound card. But later it created some controversy, so they changed the theme to SNR ratio is higher than 99db, just to stay on safer side, haha. CONNECTIVITY Microphone in (1/8" mini jack ...

Review of Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1

Creative Sound Blaster MP3+ external sound card

Advantages: Good software bundle, cheap, works well.
Disadvantages: Only stereo out on analogue

's built in sound card with MP3s sounding dynamic and clear (assuming they're recorded at a half decent rate). The midrange worked well and the bass sounded tighter than the existing card too. I haven't tried using it with an external 'proper' amp and speakers, just the ones I use on my PC but despite that, it gaves things a real kick. Conclusion The SoundBlaster MP3+ is small, light and does the job admirably. If you want to upgrade your existing soundcard or have one that is playing up and you want an easy way to get something working then you should strongly consider the MP3+. The main outputs are stereo only which may put off a hardened gamer or a DVD fan wanting multi-channel surround sound but for the rest of us, this is a great device at a great price. Using the digital output does get you the full 5.1 experience but to be honest, I ...
