ZALMAN CNPS9500A LED

...Introduction People who like quiet PCs will know Zalman products. The ZALMAN 9700 LED is a cooler for the CPU and it is compatible with the following chipsets: Socket 754, Socket 940, Socket 775, Socket 939, Socket AM2 Performance I don't have any temperature comparisons with other coolers but it's sat on top of my Core 2 Duo 6600 and is very quiet indeed, plus I can barely get the CPU temp over 35 degrees even on a hot day playing a 3d game. I should point out that this will in part be to my large Gigabyte Aurora 3D case that has three 120mm fans in it. Not only is it very quiet, another thing I like about it is that because the fan is perpendicular to the motherboard, it is already in a position to move air out of the case. Advantages: Can control 6 fans, nice blue LEDs, looks great
Disadvantages: LEDs can flicker, 2-pin fans are difficult to install

...shutting off because there is no fan connected. Looks The look of the fan controller is different to most - rather than an opaque cover it has a blue tinted acrylic cover, revealing in part the circuit board underneath. This is a good effect, but it would have been cool if the LEDs were behind the acrylic. The LEDs themselves are two different colours - the four 3-pin fans with knobs to control them have blue LEDs while the 2-pin fans with switches have red LEDs. These LEDs are very bright, so if your going to sleep in the same room looking at them their not a good idea, and I found that with some fans they flicker; this might just be my model, but its not that annoying if their out the way.
