...I had get one of the wirelessadapters for my laptop. I could either go for the pcmia slot, or the usb slot. I opted for the usb version because i could then use it other desktop computers as well. I bought this one for 15 quid and didn't research how good it is before. I had to install the driver and software and then plug it in... and that's it. the internet was working. I tried it with a zoom router and with a belkin router. I use it on the first floor and the access point is in the ground floor . The signal strenght is 60(the software shows all the details of the link quality) but sometimes it flactuates with no obvious reasons. Sometimes the connection drops; when the signal strenght goes down to 40.

Advantages: Small, efficient and cheap Disadvantages: poor shipped firmware
...Firstly, this wirelessadapter is a good purchase for anybody who reqires to add wireless ability to their laptop or pc. Instalation is very easy with the supplied CD, which contains drivers and software for configuring the wirelessadapter. The software is a good alternative to the windows wireless wizard, and makes connecting to any wireless network an easy process.
The package includes a desktop stand, which meas you can locate the adapter anywhere convenient, or out of sight. The size of the USBadapter is small, and it looks smart. In terms of functionality the WG111T performs very well, it connects very quickly and maintains a connection to network uniterupted. It also has a high speed (108mbps) which allows fast file transfer. There is a convenient blue LED to inform you of the connection status.
One problem is to do...

Little wireless receiver Review ofBelkin Wireless High Speed Mode USBAdapter Network adapterby
greatmum1
Advantages: Good connectivity Disadvantages: none significant
...or Ethernet connection. We found best to have the main PC connected by cable to Ethernet port and Laptops at other locations with wireless receiver. Signal is good even on a different floor in the house.
The little Aerial has an internal integrated antenna- which is not very stable in standing straight- but received equally well when it was lying flat. Even has a cover for protection. It could be plugged straight to USB port or with the 1 metre wire. Manufacturer says put it top of desktop for best reception - well ok with a PC but cannot do that for a Laptop though! I found it much better that a networking card- as with a card there were frequent disconnections from the internet.
We chose to buy this as The WirelessGUSB Network Adapter easily connects your USB-equipped desktop or notebook computer to your wireless network for Internet and file...
