These naturally potent ingredients give Zambuk its distinctive smell , not unpleasant but a clean smell akin to TCP or disinfectant. This indeed is a time proven formula and indeed does work on injuries such as bruises and minor cuts (from personal experiance) and as the ingredients are natural, i feel its always better that way. The product lists it can be used for a range of minor wounds, scalds, burns, itching, chapped hands, insect bites, muscular pains....the list is non-exhaustive. However it does take a few days before for example the bruising starts to fade, but the disinfectant effects to protect a wound are instant once covered. The consistency of the Zambuk is an oily / waxy form similar in thickness to Vasline and can easily be applied with a finger.
On the downside, in referance to the smell, it is quite pungent based on the variety of active ingerdients, which maybe not liked by some users. The colour and design within its common selling form being a tin of assorted sizes, from 7g (mini) to 16g standard to a large 60g tin means all size needs can be catered for.
Zambuk apparently gets its name from an old saying calling ambulence /paramedics "Zambuks" running on fields during sports games. Origionally developed by Fisons, the ointment is now produced round the world by various companies, such as Rose and Co, and indeed Bayer.
The sources of Zambuk are more widespread recently, with online retailers on eBay, stand alone web-stores and indeed high-street chemists and cosmetic stores retailing. The standard tins (16g) price is approx £4-£5 which is a tad expensive, but i personally recommend it, as its worked in my case.
However a much larger 60g tin is available at around £12-£15 , thus for regular users could be a much more cost effective option.
