We chose the 1600 model, energy efficiency is great, it takes a larger load and has the filter.
Since having the machine fitted, I have nothing but praise. Load ... ...give the correct programme and press the start button. It's great to hear the beep (which can be turned off when programming) open the door and take out perfectly dry washing.
Cleaning the filter is very easy, just remember to put a bowl underneath the trap door first, and remove the fluff etc. I am amazed at the amount of fluff I keep removing.
The machine also intelligently slows down and allows the washing to redistribute ... more
My previous washer/dryer lasted just over 3 years, my husband was forever taking it apart to remove items from the pump, children seem to hide hairbands in the most obscure places, when the dryer stopped working I needed a replacement.
I was looking for a washer/dryer that would be economical to run, would take a good sized washing load, wouldn't trap water at the bottom of the rubber on the door or socks.
I went to a large retailer and checked each washer/dryer. They ranged from 900 speed spinners to 1600 wash loads max 6.0kg. It is the best washing machine I've used especially for those of us who are busy working mums. If you want to be able to leave the washing knowing that the load will be ready to fold and store then this is the machine for you.

It's been over six months since I've been using the Zanussi-Electrolux ZWF 16281. It is a free standing 1600 rpm washing machine in a white finish with dimensions of (H)85.0 x (W)60.0 x (D)60.0 cm. It seems a well constructed aappliance and I suppose by today's standards it was a reasonable price (Just over three hundred quid). It certainly washes clothes to my satisfaction and wash loads on the whole seem to take the same length of time as my parent's Zanussi ZWC 1300.
When buying electrical appliances these days I always take into account environmental and energy efficiency related issues and the ZWF16281 certainly meets my expectations in this department. It comes with an A rated energy rating, an A rated wash performance an A rated spin performance. I think the wash performance related to how much water the machine uses ...

I then went into town and found a small shop which sold electrical goods.
They had the same washing machine in stock for £240 then as I was looking the salesman came along and we told him that we had seen the Zanussi in Comet for £230, he said that he would match the price, or he could even show us another Zanussi with a 1400 spin which had been delivered but never plugged in, at a ladies house who had ordered a 1600 spin and had been taken the wrong machine. So, they could no longer sell it as new.
When he showed us this model which was a 1400 spin for the same price £230 we decided to have it and paid and took it home there and then.
