I bought a Zanussi washing machine twenty years ago on the recommendation of a friend and it lasted very well, seeing a lot of hard service before finally wearing out after 15 years or so.
On the strength of that I bought a Zanussi dishwasher and a Zanussi washing machine three and a half years ago. After three years the height adjuster on the upper basket of the dishwasher snapped, which cost £30 for replacement parts.
Six months after that the dishwasher started to leak from underneath somewhere after it had been used for the first time on the 70 degree setting. Potential repairers wanted more to fix it (with no guarantee of success) than it will cost to get a new machine.
Coming on top of the Zanussi washing machine bought at about the same time starting to leak after just two years I'm not very impressed.
