This is an unusual op for me as I am 18 (nearly 19)years old and I cannot yet cook, wash or iron for myself.Lately I have decided it's about time I grew up a little bit and started to learn to do things for myself and one of the things I am learning to do is wash.I've been watching my mother do it for now and I've noticed that as well as a tumble dryer she has a spin dryer.I didn't really know why she had both but apparently the spin dryer is cheaper.
It is quite simple looking being mainly white with the word Zanussi written in black towards the bottom of the product. It is a cylinder shape and has a little spout about 6/7 inches from the bottom of the product positioned in the middle. It has a plug attached and as far as I know it came already assembled.
The lid has like a white long handle that you pull up a little and move to the side to open the lid.Inside you should find a metal cylinder (pretty large) where you will put your wet washing. It acually looks like the inside of a washing machine.
*How does it work?*
Now this is the part I love because it is so simple to use.All you do is plug the handy device in but make sure the lid is up when you do this or make sure that you are plugging it into a socket where the switch isn't down.If you don't have the lid up and you plug it in and switch it on then the machine will start automatically.Anyway assuming you now have the lid up and it is plugged in you place your wet washing in the machine (be careful not to put too much in as it won't dry as well as it could do). Also make sure you place little things towards the bottom and something large at the top otherwise you have the risk of the little things falling out and possibly getting damaged.
There is a white plastic cover you put on top of the washing and that fits (with a little struggle) just under the top of the metal cylinder that helps make sure the washing doesn't fall out. However it does have a round hole in the middle of it which is why I suggested putting small things like socks nearer the bottom.
The next thing you do is put the lid down and place the handle thing over the lid. This automatically sets the spinner off and as I found out when it is first starting it tends to throw a tiny tantrum and nearly lifts itself off the ground. So make sure you hold it until it has got over it's little tantrum.Another thing I haven't mentioned is that the water comes out of the little spout and you have to provide something for the water to go into.We have a little jug that gets placed below it but you can use whatever you see fit.The first time I used it I was sat on the floor by it watching the water come out of the spout and into the jug (yes I had nothing better to do!)and I felt a cold breeze against my legs in front of the spout. This is when I noticed it actually blows the washing dry and blows the water out of the spout.A cool little device I think!
You do have to watch it because it only takes around 3-4 minutes to dry the clothes to a level where they are just damp. For 1 washing pile I find that I have to seperate the clothes into 2 piles otherwise there is too many clothes to fit into the dryer.
*Do you get anything with the spin dryer?*
Well the only thing my mum could find is the instruction booklet you get with it (which I have to say is really helpful). In the booklet it tells you how to use,how to load, how to drain, care and maintenance of the dryer and what to do if the dryer won't work. You also have a 12 month guarantee with the product which is great if it breaks.
*So would I recommend it?*
Definately!I am definately buying one of these handy machines as at £79.99 from curry's I feel it is a bargain! It saves a lot of time if you are going out and need to dry your clothes or if it is raining and you don't want your clothes dripping everywhere.I have to stress thoguh that it doesn't dry them completely so they do need to be hung somewhere to dry for another hour or 2.However it does get rid of most water contained on the clothes and it really does make drying the clothes that much easier. It is so simple to use even I managed it and it is so much cheaper than a tumble dryer.
So if you are choosign a spin dryer sometime in the future choose this one.I guarantee you won't be let down.Obviously prices will vary wherever you go so shop around for the best deals.I hope this has helped you.
