I bought the Zanussi-ElectroluxZDF 501 S about 2 months ago. I am thrilled with it. It has a delayed timer on it so I can set it to wash during our Economy 10 hours so it is cheaper on the electric. I live in a block of flats and I was concerned about the noise level of running a dishwasher at night.
Anyhow, I bought this Zanussi-ElectroluxZDF 501 S and it's the best dishwasher I have ever had. The bottom rack is great because you can fold some of the sections down to make room for the bigger items you need to put in it. On the top rack, you can remove the racks to adapt it for more glasses. I can fit a LOT of dishes in it and they come out brilliantly clean! ...

I had never used a dishwasher before in my life, i had always had to settle for the kitchen sink but with my life being so jam packed with things to do and with money to spare i thought i would buy this Zanussi-ElectroluxZDF 511/ZDF 511 S.
The delivery man turned up on a friday morning and i gave him a hand unloading it into our kitchen.
It was love at first sight this dishwasher was elegantly made and its silver body and stylish design fitted into my kitchen magnificently.
Once i had stopped admiring my new appliance's beauty the delivery man was unwrapping it and getting it ready to install. I left him alone with a cup of tea and left him to get on with it.
About 40 mins later it was installed and he was showing me to work it.

We bought the ZDF 501 2 years ago, and its worked fine. However, 2 nights ago, the dishwasher control panel caught fire about 5 minutes into a wash cycle. Fortunately we were able to put out the fire within seconds of smelling smoke, but the flames were already quite big, and molten plastic from the dishwasher had started a secondary fire on our kitchen floor. LOTS of smoke as well! This product has not been recalled, unlike the 601, but I read the previous post documenting a similar problem, and thought I should give a heads up to owners, or potential owners, of this model. To be fair, Zanussi were very concerned when we called them this morning, and are sending someone to investigate. I'll keep readers updated as to their findings. ...
