When our old washer/dryer brokedown we were keen to replace it with another one, but my previous make was no longer available; the Zanussi Washer Dryer ZWD12270W seemed to be the best match for our requirements. It was a reasonable price in the category and supplied the same amount of drying space.
I did some internet reseach and found the best deal at currys.co.uk. The machine is £279.99 plus £19.95 delivery & collection of old one. Another trawl of the internet found that I could get free delivery with the code AWSALEDEL and then got 1% cash back by going through the greasypalm website to do the purchase. The statisics are :-
Wash and dry in one machine - a great space saver.
The machines controls are easy to use and well laid out. Initially I found the beeping when a wash or dry cycle ended got to me but a quick look in the manual showed a combination of buttons that could be pressed to stop this happening. I now have the beeping turned off all the time. You can also lock the machine with another key combination to stop your small child washing the dog. I have not used this yet.
The wash quality has been very good and the drying time slightly shorter on this new machine, about 1.30 on a full drying load. I am really happy with this machine and only have a few niggles. As the machine is directly under our sink the front panel does get liquids dripping down it and I suspect at sometime we will fuse it as the push buttons hold the drips. This is not really a machine problem more where we have had to put it in the kitchen. The other niggle is that my old machine could be turned off mid cycle and would start where it left off when you turned it back on. You can pause the wash cycle no problems on this machine but if you turn it off it resets. I guess it makes sense but it caught me out.
The machine shows how long the wash will take and counts down which is wonderful. The quickest wash you can do is 30 minutes which is great for my daughters bed time toy. It has a pre-wash, intensive wash and quick wash and also eco settings which turn down the spin speed but take longer to do. I use the eco settings in the evening when I know I won't be empting the machine until the following day. I am glad we bought this machine.
