Getting the best cooking results with a small kitchen is always tough, normally limited to either gas or electric cookers.
Hob cooking with gas gives instant regulated heat, essential in cooking sauces etc. Electric fan assisted ovens give uniform heat throughout the oven cavity preventing 'hot spots' of typical electric or gas ovens.
So with Dual Fuel where space is a real limitation to great cooking you can get the best results by having both gas hob and fan assisted oven in one, without having to spend loads of cash on separate gas hobs and electric built-in ovens. Of course Zanussi isn't the only provider of dual fuel ovens, but dual fuel is the first positive step to easier cooking with results.
The hob on the ZCM611 has 2 medium burners at the back, one massive burner and one small burner to the front. So you can get some heat into your wok or make a roux at the front, and you really can get the heat in if you need to or use the finesse of the small burner for sauces.
This makes cooking so much easier, why do companies design cookers with either the big or small burner at the back? Have they never cooked before, designed by men?!
If I buy something i buy it to last, the Zanussi is a quality built oven, the knobs are there to stay, not made out of flimsy plastic. Typical with Zanussi build every component is of the highest quality.
The fact it's made out of stainless steel concerned me, i thought it would be tough to clean and stains left on the brushed surfaces. What a relief when i found it took no more effort to clean that an enamel or powder coated unit. But wow it looks a million dollars in silver and makes our kitchen look great.
Well are there any negative features? We had to decide if we wanted a separate grill or an oven/grill combination. This is the combination, which of course limits the chance to cook with both concurrently. We've got a micro grill anyway so we've never needed to use it. But before you buy the ZCM611, consider a big capacity oven verses separate oven and grill.
I've moved a lot over the years, never taken the cooker with me, so i've bought a lot of cookers, without doubt this one I’d buy again. But not for 20+ years!
