After reading good manufacturer reviews and watching impressive video clips of this model, I decided to take the plunge and buy online. I think that was a big mistake as I couldn't look inside or feel the quality.
I am very disappointed, despite using the recommended washing tablets the cleaning is very poor, it states that there is no need to rinse dishes or pans before putting them in but if you didn't they would be just as dirty when they came out.
There is nowhere to put tumblers or cups without them falling over, the bottom plate rack has no clips so it keeps flopping over. General build quality seems poor.
Its good points are, its very quiet and it has stem holders for wine glasses.

Quick review of Zanussi ZDF501 Review ofZanussi-Electrolux ZDF501by

I bought one of these in January 2007 and last night (24th May 2008) it nearly caused a fire when the electrics behind the control panel overheated. I then found that there had been a product recall, however the model number and serial number I had was not covered in the recall. If this is any indication of quality, for what was not a low end product, I would steer well clear of both this model and this manufacturer.
Whilst using this product it has been very quiet however the quality of cleaning also leaves a lot to be desired with things often coming out looking like they could do with a good clean, for instance glasses do not come out looking clear and sparkling but look cloudy instead.

Advantages: no need to use the sink Disadvantages: awkward loading when you have small bowls
our second dishwasher, and what a relief i love having it. the clean and easy design makes it quite simple to use, the instruction manual could be a bit clearer as some of the instructions do not seem to follow a logical coherent order. that is not the only draw back, it can be a pain to load. especially if you have bowls that are not a standard shape, but what can i say i have worked out the best way of doing it with the gear i have. its is fine ...

Advantages: Delay timer, quiet, and you can adapt the racks. Disadvantages: None whatsoever
...I bought the Zanussi-ElectroluxZDF501 S about 2 months ago. I am thrilled with it. It has a delayed timer on it so I can set it to wash during our Economy 10 hours so it is cheaper on the electric. I live in a block of flats and I was concerned about the noise level of running a dishwasher at night.
Anyhow, I bought this Zanussi-ElectroluxZDF501 S and it's the best dishwasher I have ever had. The bottom rack is great because you can fold some of the sections down to make room for the bigger items you need to put in it. On the top rack, you can remove the racks to adapt it for more glasses. I can fit a LOT of dishes in it and they come out brilliantly clean!...
