Disadvantages: Short life span

A friend has a better Zanussi model with all sorts of combinations of temperature and programmes including a quick wash at 40 degrees which is excellent (I used her machine to tied me over until I bought a new one)... Advantages: Very good value for money.
Disadvantages: Poor basket design.

...The Zanussi DA6141 is a basic dishwasher which replaces the previous DW40 model which in turn had superceded the Z30 model. The Z30 model was our first dishwasher which we bought just over 20years ago,it was very reliable and never broke down,it was later passed on to our daughter,likewise we have just passed on the DW40 model to her after 10 years of reliability. We have had the DA6141 for about 4 months now and I can honestly say that the washing performance is not as good as it's predecessors,you have to be very careful when stacking items in the dishwasher to ensure that they are washed properly,this is because of the badly designed baskets in comparison to the previous designs. The only other slight drawback with the basket design is that they do not have the same amount of space as the previous models. Having stated the above... Read review

Advantages: Energy efficient, uses cold water and heats it up using an inbuilt element, quiet , large drum, takes 16lb weight of clothing, easy to use, removable tray which makes cleaning it easy, the spin cycle really wrings out alot of the water from the clothing.
Disadvantages: Lettering on the side of the washing machine has rubbed off only after 3 months, the quick wash cycle doesnt drain very much water from the clothing which makes drying them longer.

...I purchased this machine in October 2004 and even though I found the machine to be quite robust in size it has proven to be very efficient. The 40 degree wash cycle does take 2 hours which is a tad time consuming but in return it has cleaned my washing load to an excellent standard. The removable tray makes cleaning it very easy so I can avoid the nasty build up of softner that usually occurs in most machine trays. The fast wash only takes 30 minutes which is fantastic when ensuring my sons school uniform is clean in time for school the next morning. I do find that the fast wash does tend to leave the clothes slightly more damper than usual, but leaving the clothes to dry overnight on the radiator will have this problem nipped in the bud.
