After the door broke on my washing machine and had to be forced open so that I could get my washing out. I decided it was time to go and buy a new washing machine. I like to shop around for a good deal before I spend my hard earned cash on expensive items, as most washing machines cost from £200 upwards depending on where you buy and which size washing machine you go for. So after checking out the main stores, Currys, Argos and Comet I spotted a Zanussi 12070W 1200 spin on offer at Comet for £230 if you bought it and took it away the same day.
Now, I'm a bit dubious when it comes to the larger stores sales as most of the time you find the item you want go to get it only to be told it's not in stock and that a similar product is usually a little more expensive, which is what happened when I went to get my washing machine. The next model up the range was £260 so, I decided to look elsewhere. I then went into town and found a small shop which sold electrical goods. They had the same washing machine in stock for £240 then as I was looking the salesman came along and we told him that we had seen the Zanussi in Comet for £230, he said that he would match the price, or he could even show us another Zanussi with a 1400 spin which had been delivered but never plugged in, at a ladies house who had ordered a 1600 spin and had been taken the wrong machine. So, they could no longer sell it as new. When he showed us this model which was a 1400 spin for the same price £230 we decided to have it and paid and took it home there and then.
Once home, we plumbed it into the water and started to do the washing which had piled up. The first thing I noticed was how much quieter this machine was to my old one. It holds 6kg of washing which is 2kg more than my older washer. I was feeling better about the bargain each minute I read about it. It is really easy to use. Open the door , lead the washing, select the program, add washing powder and press go, easy.
There are different programs for different clothing types. There is a wheel on the left hand side of the machine which clearly shows what type of clothing and what the temperatures of washing are. Cottons - 95 or you can do the eco wash which you can choose 60or 40 degrees. Synthetics - 50-40 or easy iron. Delicates - 40-30 Wool - 40 Hand wash - 40 Handwash cold -30 Silk - 30 Sport -40 Rinse, Drain then Spin. When you choose a program a timer comes on to tell you how long the wash will take, you can then press the Options button to add extra Rinse, Quick wash and Pre-wash. The programs will not start until you press the Start button which is on the right hand side of the machine.
Once the program has started you can leave it to run it's cycle, the machine will then stop and beep three times loudly to tell you it has finished, it does this three times if you ignore it then stops beeping. You can time the programs to start at any time during the day or night too, if you have to go out and need to do a wash or have economy 7 and need to run your machine at night.
You have to level the machine when you install it as there is an adjustable foot under the front of the machine to level it, if you don't do this it can be noisy. It also has a child lock on the door to stop little hands getting into it, turn the child lock clockwise with a coin to activate it, this can be found on the front of the door near the hinge. There is a little compartment at the bottom for draining the machine if necessary, this need only be done once every six months or so, just to maintain the machine.
I am really happy with this zanussi, it is easy to install as there is only 1 hot water pipe to attach to the mains water supply, it levels easy and the programs are easy to use. It holds more washing that my other washer used to and is a reasonable price. With a 12 months guarantee. I'd recommend it to you.

The Zanussi is simplicity itself to use. Just set the dial to the correct programme, and press the play button. There is no fancy stuff here - just simple controls which do what they say on the tin. The spin speed is adjustable between 1200 and 900 rpm, and wide variety of prgrammes are on offer, controlled by a traditional dial selector. The Zanussi 12070 also has a delayed start option of up to 9 hours which would be financially advantageous for those who run on off peak electricity tariff without having to wait up to start it. The machine itself is very easy to operate and comes with a clear instruction manual The machine in operation is quiet and efficient you just put everything in select the setting push a button and forget it. Although there it does ... ...this is not detrimental to its performance.
Although I have only had it a relatively short time I have had no problems and am extremely pleased with it it has features often not even found in more expensive machines. In terms of value for money it is outstanding why pay more than needed I would strongly recommend anyone thinking of buying a new washing machine to strongly consider it they wont be disappointed. ...

I bought one of these machines when I renovated my new flat last year and must say that I'm quite impressed with it. I previously had an 800rpm, 4KG load washing machine so to go upto 1200rpm with 6KG was quite a noticable difference.
I was recoomended this product by a friend of mine who had the 1600spin version, so I researched it a bit to make sure that the lower spin speeds came out as good as the higher one (I think that it was reccomended ... ...found that alot of people had positive opinions for all spin speeds. I later found out that this machine starts from a 1000 spin upto a 1600 spin verson, it's only myself and my partner at home so we decided to just go for the 1200 in the end - and this suits us fine.

I have only had this machine for 1 year 1 month warranty was only for a year and the circuit board has gone. Replacement price for the board was £200.00 so I've had to replace the machine make sure to insure it if you will be buying this machine.
