I bought this machine as a replacement for my old Tricity, which had finally given up the ghost. The specification of the machine, with a1200 spin speed - a slow spin speed means that the machine will be more reliable, and a reasonably big 6kg drum meant that this was my first choice. After an internet search I found it for £240 including delivery, which seemed very reasonable.
My partner worked in a washing machine repair shop - and Zanussi was rated by the repair man there as being the most reliable. After checking on the net, I found her opinion was backed up by http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/
If you look at that site, it makes the obvious point that washing machines - once designned to last for about twenty years and to be easily fixed, are now designed to last for five (if you are lucky). This is the result of cost cutting to keep prices down among the major washing machine manufacturers. If you want to buy a quality mahcine, you should for something costing about £500 and up. However, there is no way I could afford this, so I chose the best budget machine I could get for the price.
The machine does what it says on the tin. There are no fancy gimmicks, just a good, economical performance from a reliable washing machine.
Clothes smell fresh and are always clean on a 40 degree setting. The machine seems to use very little water, which must help it to get its A rating on efficiency. It is a cold fill only machine, which meant that when plumbing it in, I had to get a seal for my hot water fill for my old machine. other than that, it was very easy and straightforward to set up, even for a novice like myself. The manual too is easy to understand and follow, relying heavily on pictures to convey the instructions.
The Zanussi is simplicity itself to use. Just set the dial to the correct programme, and press the play button. There is no fancy stuff here - just simple controls which do what they say on the tin. The spin speed is adjustable between 1200 and 900 rpm, and wide variety of prgrammes are on offer, controlled by a traditional dial selector. To start the machine, you simply put the clothes and powder in, close the door and press "play". It also has a handy delay function of up to 9 hours before starting, which is useful for an overnight wash. It is quiet in use and is not at all obtrusive, even during the spin cycle.

I have a Zanussi Electrolux Condenser Dryer and its the best kitchen appliance I have brought to date, no problems, easy to use and does a very good job. Zanussi are now my top brand when buying appliances.
