...hard not to choose another Zanussi but we were slightly restricted in choice because it had to fit the available space. We plumped for the FLS 1383 W, which fitted the bill height 85cm, width 60-cm and depth 58-cm and was very conveniently in the sale at the time. Zanussi FLE 1416 W - XC (Xtra Capacity) Being a mum in full time work is difficult enough without having to worry about household appliances going on the blink! ...for a new model, the Zanussi FLA 1001 W, a standard machine with a half-load button and 1000rpm spin. So is it any good? In a word, yes! It shows us now how much the previous machine was on its last legs. It is much quieter, a helluva lot more economical, and hasn't attacked the cat yet! ...Are there any criticisms? Yes, just one! My mum's model had a little switch that could stop any prying little toddler fingers inadvertantly starting up the machine- brilliant. This one does not, however, and the on/off button is in a particularly alluring shade of yellow / orange, which Ellie finds very tempting. ...all, its not unreasonable to expect at least 5 years trouble free use and It has only had to cope with and average family of four. I suppose I may have just purchased a Friday afternoon unit, but it will be the last Zanussi I purchase ... Read review

Zanussi is a well known make of washing machines and one that I trusted until it cooked my washing. I put the load in and went out for the day only to find to my horror that 6 hours later it was still spinning. When I opened the door the kitchen filled with steam and all my clothes did not have a single square inch without a crease, and everything was the same colour. ...I bought a Zanussi washing machine twenty years ago on the recommendation of a friend and it lasted very well, seeing a lot of hard service before finally wearing out after 15 years or so. On the strength of that I bought a Zanussi dishwasher and a Zanussi washing machine three and a half years ago. After three years the height adjuster on the upper basket of the dishwasher snapped, which cost £30 for replacement parts. Six months after that the dishwasher started to leak from underneath somewhere after it had been used for the first time on the 70 degree setting. Potential repairers wanted more to fix it (with no guarantee of success) than it will cost to get a new machine. Coming on top of the Zanussi washing machine bought at about the same time starting to leak after just two years I'm not very impressed.... Read review

Advantages: Good stylish wasing machine, also quiet.

...Purchased it recently after previously owning a superb Zanussi and was pleased to find the quality of appliance was continued. Good washing and drying, also as quiet as my old one. My son certainly enjoys this newer model as the door design enables him to sit watching the washing spin. Well for the first few minutes of the wash anyway. The price of the Zanussi IZ161W is nothing spectacular but i feel it provides value for money and I have had no problems since i took the plunge to stick with Zanussi. I would recommend this washer easily as the best i have ever worked with, it is also efficient. Some labelling is slightly poor but that is a minor disadvantage and doesn't compromise the overall standard.... Read review

...We bought a zanussi zwd 16581 washer dryer in april from boots kitchens direct to replace our previous 3 year old zanussi washer dryer which we left in our old flat. We had no problems with our previous zanussi washer dryer, so were happy to go with this brand. On initial use the Zanussi has provided good wash and dry ability across a range of temperatures and spin cycles. However, after 2 weeks use a fault has developed and after 2 engineer visits it looks like a new circuit board is required, so a 3rd visit is on the cards to replace the circuit board, hopefully when that is done, that will be the end to the faults. I think that we have been a bit unlucky with this appliance, as I think Zanussi products are generally pretty reliable, but I'll update this review if we still have problems after the replacement of the circuit board!...
