My daughter loves Baby Annabell and she has had one for a couple of years but one day she decided to give her doll a bath as her cousin was given her doll a bath as she had baby born. Even though I told her not to she still did and the doll no longer worked properly it work intermittently. So my first advice is do not put this doll near any water it might see obvious but to children it is not. This Christmas I decided that she could have a new one after 2 years.
When I went to the shop there was two, version 3 or version 4. Version 3 was in the sale priced at £20 and version 4 was the full price £35 after having a look round Argos had it on special offer for a week priced at £24 so I decided for the extra £4 I would get the latest one.
So what do you get for your money, a Baby Annabell doll, a bottle, a dummy, a packet of tissues and a romper suit with a matching hat.
They are trying to make this doll more and more real life it is scary. This doll is 46cm long which is the same length as other versions and other Zapf dolls so if you have outfits for other Zapf dolls it will fit her. Her head, feet and hands are plastic and the rest of her is soft body. Her bodice is where the batteries go via the back and where the ON/OFF switch is so is solid here as well. With each version they bring two types out a white version and an ethic version out so people can have a choice on what colour doll they would like they child to play with which is a good idea considering we live in a multi cultural society.
When you place the bottle in her mouth you hear her suck on her bottle and if you fill the bottle with water she will also drinking the water. When you take her bottle out she will burp and close her eyes to go to sleep. If you place the dummy in her mouth you will hear her sucking on her dummy. The newest thing added to this version doll is if you speak to Baby Annabell from the side she will turn her head to face you just like a real baby would do. This doll does not wet herself with the water, instead when you hear her cry look at her eyes you will notice tears coming from them. She will cry if woken from her sleep by a noise but if you talk or sing she will stop crying and start laughing at you.
I did notice that she is a bit heavy so young children might find it hard to carry her but any child over 4 will have no problems.
If her face, hands and feet get dirty just wipe them down with a wipe damp cloth. If her clothes get dirty just throw them into the washing machine with your normal washing.
If you have a child under 3 and want to get them a Baby Annabell I would advise you to get one in the sale just in case they don't like her as I have seen children running away from her also they will not know it's the latest version. Then in a few years if they still like her then get the latest version. If you have a four year old or older then go for the latest one as it will last as the eldest one is 8 and half and hers doll is 3 years old, it still works and still plays with it so was worth the money. The Entertainer still her version 3 in stock and you can get version 4 from most good toy shops.
As this is a functioning doll she does require batteries are not included so make sure have 4 AA batteries at hand. They last quiet awhile, 6 months to a year depending on how often they play with it.
You can get many things for this doll you would not believe. Buggies, clothes, nappies, cots, baby monitors, baby gym, etc, etc. Most of this stuff is well over priced but if you little one does want the matching items my best advice is look in the sales and discount stores you can pick up some items at a reasonable price.
Advantages: realistic Disadvantages: too many batteries
I bought this for my daughters second birthday as she seemed to be getting into dolls ect, and she just had a ne brother to grow used to. Its RRP is around 40 pounds but in sales it can be found for about half that. It is a really clever doll in my opinion, when you turn it on it babbles and gurggles and has a sound recognition thing it in so it turns its head in the direction of where someone is talking... although sometimes ive found this a little ... ...be filled with water which annabell drinks and falls asleep to and burps. When she is in sleep mode if a loud sound is made she wakes and crys real tears. The only disadvantage ive found is the amount of batteries she eats! taking 4 at a time she goes through them like a digital camera. ...

Advantages: Encourages your little one to want to swim Disadvantages: Needs batteries
I can gurantee that if you have got a little girl in your house that you have got a Zapfdoll, either babyannabell, baby born or baby choo choo. Every season they bring new items for the dolls or a new version of the doll. The latest edition to their collection is the Zapf My Little Baby Born Mummy look I can swim! When looking through the Argos catolgue with my little girl we spotted this and asked if Santa could bring it for her one for Christmas. Everytime she saw it on TV as well she asked for it. After asking for it for about 2 months I agreed she could have one so her Nan got her one for Christmas.
Come Christmas day would she still want it? Yes it did, another present that made her smile. Luckly as she knew it was for the bath we did not have to open it there and then. When we did have to open it though it was a bit ...
Advantages: Pretty face, well made, not too noisy Disadvantages: none
My 3-year-old daughter loves dolls. She likes changing them, feeding them, cuddling them and putting them to bed. She already has babyAnnabell but this Christmas I decided to get her Molly.
Molly is a doll from the Zapf Creation range. Zapf Creation is a doll manufacturer also responsible for Baby Born, it’s best selling doll, BabyAnnabell, Chou Chou and Maggie Raggies.
Max and Rosa Zapf established Zapf Creation in Rodental, Germany in 1932. These first dolls were made of papier-mâché by Rosa Zapf and women in and around Rodental and then Max Zapf would go out and about selling them.
In 1958 Brigitte and Willi Zapf, second generation of the Zapf family, expanded the business to include the European markets. In the 1960’s Zapf Creation produced the first dolls made of plastic instead of celluloid.

Advantages: Does what it says on the tin Disadvantages: Noisy and a one trick pony
all her other dolls are much bigger, so it didn?t really fit. Also because it?s so much smaller, none of the clothes she has from the other Baby Born and BabyAnnabeldolls will fit it, so it?s stuck in the swimsuit all the time. I think Zapf could have put in a change of clothes with the doll rather than just a towel and flip flops. ...
