It's nice to walk into a high street store where the racks aren't bulging with clothes and there are not garments strewn carelessly across the floor. That is what first strikes you about Zara. The shop that I have been in is well lit, airy and spacious. Lovely.
RANGE Don't go into Zara expecting the wide range of clothes you find in other womens high street stores like Topshop or New Look. Zara seems to sell more elegant clothes but in a style that I would think appeals to a wide age range of women.
QUALITY The quality of the clothes is good. You get the feeling they are a better quality by the way the clothes are treated in the store - nicely folded or hung carefully and they have never squeezed as many clothes possible on to one rack.
CHANGING ROOMS The changing rooms are a good size and lit well. They also have lots of mirrors outside the cubicle. Compared to other high street shops where you often have a metre square to try clothes on in, these fitting areas are great.
PRICE In this store, you are likely to find something you like that seems well made and tailored and expect to see a huge price tag on it. It is not so with Zara...their prices are extremly competative and everything seems to be very good value.
SERVICE In my visits, I have never been approached by staff but at the till point, they are very polite and attentive. Also, when you want to try something on they are very helpful.
I think this is a store still waiting to make an impact on England. In the end, I imagine it to be a huge success. If you haven't been to a ZARA store yet, look out for them. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
